Underwood is the 12th head football coach in the history of Husky football. Prior to being named the St. Cloud State head coach, Underwood had been the defensive coordinator for the Huskies since 2001. In nine seasons at the helm of the Husky football program, Underwood has compiled a 6733 overall record. His win total is the second-most all-time at SCSU. 2016 Key Returners • The 2016 Huskies return 11 All-NSIC selections from last season. • The program brings back All-NSIC First Team selections Jaden Huff (RB), Jameson Parsons (WR), Craig Szymanski (LB) and Brady Westart (LB). All-NSIC Second Team awar17winners in 2015 who are back this fall include Bryce Johnson (OL), Mitch Knutson (DL) and Richardo Ramos (DL). All-NSIC Honorable Award winners back from 2015 are Jerry Duckworth (DB), Adam Josephson (LB), Grant Lewis (OL), and Nate Meyer (QB) • The team returns two-year starting quarterback Nate Meyer • Meyer threw for 2,851 yards and 22 touchdowns last season. • He became just the fifth quarterback in school history to throw more than 20 touchdowns in a season. • His consecutive seasons of over 2,000 yards passing the last two years made him just the sixth quarterback in school history to accomplish the feat in back-to-back seasons. • The team also returns leading receiver Jameson Parsons, who caught 61 passes for 1,272 and nine touchdowns as a junior. • Parsons became just the fifth receiver in the school record books with a 1,000 yard receving season as a junior. • The squad’s leading returning rusher is Jaden Huff, who ran for 741 yards and 13 touchdowns as a sophomore. • On defense, linebacker Brady Westart paced the team with his 79 tackles and racked

up 10.5 stops for loss plus 7.5 sacks. Adam Josephson was steady on defense with his 71 tackles with fellow linebacker Craig Szymanski tallying a team-high 12 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. In 2015, SCSU charted 2,361 yards on the ground, while limiting opponents to 1,594 yards. In the air, SCSU gained 2,880 yards passing (194-318-12) and allowed 2,570 yards (202-350-9). The Huskies were able to outscore their opponents by a 389-255 margin including 238-113 in the second and fourth quarters. The team brings back a total of 13 starters (six offense and seven defense) this season along with a total of 29 letterwinners, plus adds in 39 newcomers to the mix.

Fotball Gameplan All-American Team WR - Jameson Parsons - First Team Offense Scouting MSU Moorhead • The Dragons beat Minnesota Crookston by a 41-12 score last weekend. • MSU Moorhead gained 240 yards on the ground and another 201 through the air for 441 yards as a team. • The Dragons defense limited the Golden Eagles to just eight yards rushing on 44 attempts. • Austin Stone led the rushing attack with 79 yards on the ground and a touchdown • Demetrius Carr connected on nine of 16 passes for 162 yards and four touchdowns. • Damon Gibson caught four passes for 140 yards and four scores. • Ryan Dahleen led the team with eight tackles, 3.5 stops for loss and two sacks. • Miles Baggett also totaled eight tackles along with 2.5 stops for loss. • MSU Moorhead are averaging 29 points per game. • The defense has totaled 41 tackles for loss including 20 sacks. • The program is also 3-0 this season at home. • Stone has led the rushing attack with 503 yards and four touch-

He also has scampered for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Gibson is among the NSIC leaders in receiving. He leads the league in receptions per game (7.3), second in receiving touchdowns (9) and is third in receiving yards (752). Gibson is also averaging 17.1 yards per reception. He also works as their punter and is averaging 29 yards on his 22 attempts. Hunter Braaten is second on the team with his 31 catches, while Cory Ambrose has five receiving touchdowns on 23 catches. Abe Roehrich leads the defense with his 49 tackles. He also has five tackles for loss, two sacks and two interceptions. Aaron Bohl has accumulated 40 tackles, 4.5 stops for loss and 3.5 sacks. Adam Josephson had seven tackles and forced a pair of fumbles. Matthew Lechner picked off the first pass of his career and returned it for 16 yards. The SCSU defense gave up 78 yards rushing and 111 yards passing and a total of 189 yards in the victory. The 78 rushing yards allowed to U-Mary was the least amount of yards given up on the ground since the end of last year also against the Marauders when the defense allowed 67 (11/14/15) The 111 yards passing was the fewest the program has given up since surrendering 100 against Minnesota Crookston during the 2013 season (10/12/13). Wayne State College (9/24/16) - Notables • The Huskies came one point short in their comeback on the road against Wayne State College in losing 23-22. • The loss was the second straight for SCSU and it was only the sixth time that SCSU has lost two or more consecutive games since Coach Underwood took over the head coaching reigns in 2008. • Jameson Parsons caught eight passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. • Nate Meyer completed 21 of 40 passes for 308 yards and two touchdowns. • His 308 yards passing was the 35th 300-yard passing game recorded in school history and seventh time Meyer personally has eclipsed 300 yards through the air. • Jaden Huff ran for 59 yards and a touchdown. • Jake Schley led the defense with his seven tackles, two TFL and a sack. • Jerry Duckworth forced a fumble that Brady Westart recovered and returned for 24 yards against WSC. • The Huskies were outgained on the ground 150 to 23. • WSC’s Rashad Trimble was the fourth individual to eclipse 100 yards rushing against the SCSU defense this season.

The touchdown pass by a non-current quarterback for SCSU in Parsons was the first for the program since wide receiver Taylor Berger threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Grant Thayer against Minnesota Duluth (10/11/14). Nate Meyer completed 19-for-32 passes for 295 yards and touchdown. Freshmen wide receivers Brad Zachowski and Nick Greenlund both caught the first pass of their careers. Jerry Duckworth led the defense with his nine tackles. The Huskies were unable to force a turnover in the game for the first time this season. The team had forced a turnover in five straight games dating back to last season.

Upper Iowa (9/10/16) - Notables • The Huskies were able to defeat Upper Iowa 27-20 on the road on Sept. 10 • John Pass caught career-highs of nine passes for 138 yards plus the eventual game-winning touchdown. • Pass’s touchdown reception was the fifth of his career and the team is 4-1 in games in which he scores a touchdown. • Jameson Parsons hauled in a career-high 10 passes for 97 yards plus tied his career-best with two receiving touchdowns • Parsons’ 10 catches rank in a tie for eighth-most in school history along with Ben Nelson (3x - MR - Northern State in 2002), Fred Williams (3x - MR - Wayne State in 2009) and Ryan Koch (Nebraska - Omaha in 2005).

Nate Meyer completed 28-of-41 passes for 303 yards and three touchdowns Meyer’s 28 completed passes is tied for the 10th most in a single game in school history along with Phillip Klaphake (MSU Moorhead - 2010) and Jon Quesnel (Augustana - 2006) Collin Radowicz, a freshman running back, scored the first touchdown of his career on a four-yard dash. Carvel Graham intercepted a pair of passes. Stuart Hamann led the team with his nine tackles and also had an interception. The SCSU defense forced five turnovers in the game against the Peacocks. The five turnovers were the most for the program since the 2013 season when the program forced six turnovers (five interceptions and a fumble) against Northern State (10/26/13) The last game when exactly five turnovers were forced came against Augustana (9/28/13). The last time SCSU had three or more interceptions in a game was against MSU Moorhead (10/31/15) when the Dragons were picked off four times. The Huskies were able to control the ball for the second straight week for more than 36 minutes (36:41). His receiving total was the second-most in school history for a single season.
