The College of New Jersey women’s soccer team is graduating seven seniors who have each contributed to the rich history and tradition of the TCNJ women’s soccer program. They have contributed to a 63-10-7 record over the past four seasons, an NJAC tournament title, and three NCAA championship tournament berths. In addition to their exceptional achievements on the field, each of these seniors are also members of the Dean’s List. The College New Jersey would like to thank each senior for their dedication to the program and exemplary representation of the the college both on and off the field.
#4 Lauren Malajian - Haworth,NJ/Northern Valley
Malajian has been an exceptional defensive midfielder for the Lions the past four seasons, playing in 68 career games for the Lions. She has scored 13 goals and dished out six assists. Malajian made her collegiate debut against RPI and scored her first collegiate goal in a 3-1 win over St. Mary’s. She battled through some injuries her sophomore season and returned to net seven goals and two assists as a junior. She found the back of the net three times against NJCU and was selected All-NJAC Honorable Mention. As a senior, has appeared in all 15 games and contributed to 10 defensive shuouts. She tallied a goal in a 3-0 NJAC win over Rutgers-Newark. A health and exercise science major, Lauren is a member of the Dean’s List and an NJAC All-Academic Team selection. #5 Sarah Marion - Hightstown, NJ/The Peddie School
A defensive midfielder for the Lions, Marion has appeared in 79 games and started 50 contests. She has scored 10 career goals and dished out 12 assists for 32 points. Marion made her collegiate debut in a 2-1 win over William Smith. She deposited her first career goal against Rutgers-Newark and registered a hat trick plus an assist in an NJAC win over William Paterson. Marion ranked fourth on the team in assists (5) as a sophomore and as a junior, scored four goals, including the game-winner in a 2-0 win over Montclair State. She has played in 13 matches this season and contributed to 10 shutout victories. A special education/ISTEM major, Sarah is a member of the Dean’s List and an NJAC All-Academic Team. #6 Marissa Scognamiglio - Orangeburg, NY/Pearl River Scognamiglio has played 69 games for the Lions, starting 43 contests in the midfield. She has compiled 11 goals and five assists during her tenure and also has three game-winning scores to her credit. Scognamiglio made her collegiate debut in a 4-1 win over FDU-Florham. She deposited her first career goal in a 2-0 triumph at Oneonta State. In 2015, Scognamiglio registered a career-high seven goals, including a pair of tallies in a 4-1 win over St. Lawrence in the NCAA Tournament. She was selected to the All-NJAC Honorable Mention Team as a junior and has started in 14 games as a senior. A finance major with a minor in law and politics, Marissa is a member of the Dean’s List, the NJAC All-Academic Team, and the Pi Sigma Epsilon Business Fraternity. #7 Brianna Petro - Martinsville, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan Petro has been an outstanding defender for the Lions for the past four seasons. She has played in 81 games, starting all 81 contests. Petro is the lone player on the Lions roster to start in every game the past four seasons, a testament to her durability and toughness. She has contributed to an astounding 53 shutouts in those 81 games, including 10 this season. Petro scored the lone goal of her career as a sophomore against William Paterson. She has also dished out nine assists. In 2014, Petro was selected to the All-NJAC First Team, and as a junior, was named to the AllNJAC Second Team as a defender. Brianna will graduate with a degree in special education/STEM and is a member of the Dean’s List and NJAC All-Academic Team. #8 Christine Levering - Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville

Levering has been one of the most dangerous offensive players in TCNJ program history. She has played in 60 games and scored 42 goals (15-game-winners) and compiled 20 assists for 104 points. Her 42 goals ranks seventh all-time, while she ranks sixth in program history with 104 points. Levering has accomplished those numbers in just over three seasons. Her junior year was cut short by injury after just four games. As a freshman, Levering was named NJAC Rookie of the Year after scoring 11 goals. A highlight was her game-winning goal in overtime against second-ranked Johns Hopkins. Levering followed that season with 16 goals and nine assists her sophomore year, earning All-NJAC First Team honors. In her first NCAA tournament game, Levering tallied all three goals in a 3-0 victory over Allegheny College. This season, Levering ranks second in the NJAC in goals (15) and points (37) and third in assists (7). She has compiled five, multi-game goals and netted six game-winners for the Lions. #17 Marykate Sullivan - Toms River, NJ/Toms River East Sullivan has been a member of the TCNJ women’s soccer program for the past two seasons after transferring in from Ocean County Community College. She has played in 34 games, including 14 constests this season. Sullivan made her debut with the Lions in a scoreless tie against Gettysburg last season. She tallied her first career goal in a win over Penn State-Harrisburg and also scored the following game in an NJAC victory over Rutgers-Newark. In 2016, Sullivan has contributed to 13 wins and earned a start in a 3-1 triumph over Ursinus College.
