July 1-3, 2016 Tournament Rules (excluding 8U): 1. Eligibility and membership requirements and conditions are for all divisions. These divisions are A.S.A. sanctioned Junior Olympic Softball "B" or “C” Divisions. All teams in these divisions must be registered with A.S.A. and sanctioned as a Class "B" or "C" team as defined by the Pacific Coast Region Junior Olympics program. 2. Proof of age is required. The burden of proof is with the manager if challenged by official protest. We recommend teams carry proof of age. Age eligibility by division is according to A.S.A. Junior Olympic qualifications. 3. Managers must submit their rosters to their respective A.S.A. Junior Olympic commissioner who will verify that the team meets the tournament rules and that the teams are "B" or "C" classification. A team that was selected second from a single league will be considered a "C" team, per Pacific Coast Region classifications. 4. The playing rules will be current year official A.S.A. Playing Rules for Fastpitch. Only exception is that 10c teams have the OPTION to play 10 players (extra player must play as a 4th outfielder). If a 10c team elects this option the team must bat 10 players. Both teams DO NOT have to elect the option to play 10. 5. 7 innings or 70 minutes constitutes a regulation game, unless one team is ahead by 15 runs at the end of 3 innings; 12 runs at the end of 4 innings; or 8 runs at the end of 5 innings. No new inning will start after 70 minutes has expired. Ties are allowed in pool play. 6. On Friday and Saturday only, teams may bat entire lineup with free substitutions. Courtesy runners are last batted out. On Sunday, ASA rules apply. 7. At the end of play during pool play (either by time limit or completion of 7 innings), a win will be worth 2 points, a tie will be worth 1 point and a loss will be worth 0 points. 8. ORDER OF FINISH: Will be determined by total number of points earned. In the event of ties at the end of pool play, the following tie-breakers will be used: 1) Head to head, 2) Runs allowed, 3) Runs scored, 4) Coin toss. TIE-BREAKERS WILL NOT REVERT BACK. 9. In all single elimination games on Sunday, the International Tie-breaker rule will be in effect after 7 innings or 75 minutes (whichever comes first). The Championship Game in each division will have no time limit but will have the International Tie-breaker rule in effect after 7 innings. Run rule applies. NO NEW INNING AFTER 90 MINUTES. 10. The Umpire will handle all protests on the spot. Umpires do have the OPTION to consult with the Tournament Director. The Tournament Director’s decision is final. The Tournament Director will handle any player eligibility protests. 11. 10 minutes prior to game time, each manager will submit a lineup card to umpires and the opposing team manager. 12. Each team is responsible for knowing when and where their games are to be played according to the schedule. Game time is forfeit time. 13. Teams listed in the schedule as the Home Team for each game will take the 3rd base dugout (unless already

occupied by the opponent, who has just completed a game on the same field). Home team will be determined by coin toss prior to the game for both pool play and bracket play. 14. No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the Sports Park, Adult Complex, Upper Bernal Fields or Amador High School. No overnight parking of RVs or campers is allowed in the Sports Park. The Adult Complex may be shown as "ASB" or "AC", but are the same fields. 15. The home team is responsible to report scores to a Field Marshall. 16. All teams are responsible for picking up the trash in their dugouts and bleacher areas immediately following their games. 17. Anyone who is ejected from a game by the umpire must leave the facility for the remainder of the day. If the ejection occurs on Saturday the Tournament Director will review situation and make a determination on whether or not that person will be allowed to return to the fields for Sunday's games. 18. Individual trophies will be awarded to the first and second place teams. 8U Rule Modifications (as of June 2016) We will use the NorCal approved 2016 8u Tournament Rules and are included on the following page. These rules will also be laminated and posted at the field.
