Thank you for your interest in our school. Here at Porterfield Day School, we: 1. Provide preschool children, 2 years through Pre-K the opportunity to grow in social skills, relating to children of their own age and adults other than their parents; 2. Provide a positive environment for Christian education, allowing children to develop physically, spiritually, emotionally and intellectually; and 3. Enhance or introduce the role of the church as a meaningful part of the lives of families with young children.
Philosophy We believe that a church preschool program should be fun and inviting, yet should allow the children ample opportunity to learn important skills in a loving Christian environment.
Holidays Classes Offered Two Year Olds Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Tuesday and Thursday Monday through Friday Three Year Olds Monday through Friday Pre-K Monday through Friday
Holidays and inclement weather days are generally in accordance with the Dougherty County School System.
Teachers At Porterfield Day School we are blessed with a group of teachers who are not only nurturing and loving, but also well-trained and experienced in working with children.
Chapel Each Wednesday, three-year and Pre-K classes attend Porterfield’s chapel to hear a member of the church staff tell a Bible story. Both staff and students enjoy this time of worship together.
Curriculum PDS uses a curriculum that has been designed to help the students master various goals and objectives which are appropriate for their age. This curriculum is presented in the form of monthly themes and units.
