Head Coach Travis Hudson: Coach Hudson just finished his 22nd season at the helm of the Lady Toppers. As WKU’s all-time winningest volleyball coach, he earned his 7th Coach of the Year award in 2016, as well as being named the 2002, 2005, 2012, and 2016 South Region Coach of the Year and National Coach of the Year Finalist. Since 2000, Hudson has directed the Lady Toppers to an impressive 559-199 record and has appeared in the NCAA tournament 10 times since 2002. This past season, for the 3rd consecutive year, he led WKU volleyball to both the Conference USA Regular Season Championship and the C-USA Tournament Championship to advance to the NCAA tournament for the 6th time in 7 years. While at WKU, he has coached his team to 14 conference championships in the last 17 years and has led his team to 15 consecutive seasons with 25+ wins. He has extensive camp experience, staffing some of the best camps in the Southeastern United States.

Assistant Coach Kristi Griffin:
2017 Summer Camps
Coach Griffin just completed her eighth season as the assistant coach of the Lady Topper volleyball program. She helped guide the team to a 30-3 regular season record and a 14-0 conference mark. In her 8 seasons at WKU, she has helped Coach Hudson lead his teams to 6 regular season conference championships, 5 conference tournament championships, and 6 NCAA tournament appearances while advancing to the NCAA tournament second round twice. Before arriving at WKU, Griffin spent 4 years as the assistant at Jacksonville State University where she helped guide them to 4 league titles and the school’s first 2 trips to the NCAA Division I Tournament. She was the camp director while at JSU and has run numerous successful volleyball camps for the last eight years as the camp director for the Lady Topper volleyball program.
Assistant Coach Craig Bere:

Coach Bere completed his second season as the assistant coach with the WKU volleyball program helping guide the team to both the C-USA Regular Season Championship and C-USA Tournament Championship for the 2nd straight year. Before coming to WKU, he spent 2 seasons as the head coach at the University of Southern Indiana where he amassed a 47-17 record leading the team to their first ever conference tournament championship and NCAA tournament appearance. He then spent 3 seasons as the top assistant at LSU where he helped the Tigers reach the NCAA tournament in ‘05 and ’06 and clinch a share of its first SEC title in school history. After LSU, he became the top assistant at the University of Louisville guiding them to a Big East Conference Championship and 2 trips to the NCAA tournament. His next stop was at Georgia Tech where he helped them reach the NCAA tournament for the first time in 5 years in 2009. In addition to his 22 years of DI coaching experience, he also has extensive club and camp experience running his own volleyball camps throughout the country.

Meals: Lunch will be provided for All Skills Camp, Elite Camp, and Team Camp ONLY and are included in the camp fees. Additional Information: • All campers will receive a camp t-shirt • All Skills Camp, Elite Camp and Lil’ Volley Topper Camp members will receive a camp volleyball • All camps are commuter camps (no overnight accommodations are provided) • Camps are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level, and/or gender) • There is a $50 processing fee per camper for ALL cancellations ($25 fee for Lil’ Volley Topper Camp cancellations) Coaches Information: All coaches are welcome to attend the Lady Topper Volleyball Camps and to join the staff and campers courtside to watch and learn. High School Team Camp: When: July 12-14, 2017 Times: 9am-5pm Cost: $180.00 per player Minimum of 8 players per team required Team camp allows your team to learn, grow, and improve before your season begins. Day 1 of Team Camp will be comprised entirely of skill instruction, covering all volleyball fundamentals. Days 2 and 3 will include tournament play. Each team must have a coach/supervisor with them at all times throughout the camp. A $540 deposit (or 3 paid registrations) PER TEAM is required to hold each spot and is due by May 15, 2017. Spots are held on a first come, first serve basis so please contact the volleyball office to ensure there is an opening before submitting payment.

The Elite Camp is designed for high school players with at least 3 years of playing experience and/or players with travel team club experience. Elite camp will cover all volleyball fundamentals, as well as game situations, but at a more challenging level. Elite camp will be held on the same dates and times as All Skills Camp, but campers will be grouped separately.

The All Skills Camp is designed to offer campers a solid skill foundation in all areas of the game. Fundamental instruction will be provided for passing, setting, serving, hitting, and blocking. The camp will also include team and game situations and will cater to all skill levels while placing each camper in a group based on their level of skill. Come enjoy 3 days working with the Lady Topper camp staff to develop the skills necessary to become a successful player at the high school level.

This camp is designed for beginners and will introduce campers to fundamental areas of the game in a fun, exciting environment. Campers will work with court coaches and will be divided into appropriate age groups.

All Skills Camp ❏ $210
The Lady Topper volleyball team put together its 15th straight 25+ win season with a 30-3 overall record and the programs’ 6th straight regular season conference championship. The Lady Toppers also claimed its 3rd straight C-USA tournament championship to receive an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament. In addition, they earned 5 C-USA All-Conference selections, the C-USA Player of the Year, Setter of the Year, and Coach of the Year awards along with 3 All-Region selections and 2 All-American Honorable Mention selections. WKU also climbed up to #20 in the National Top 25 Poll marking the 6th consecutive season the Lady Toppers have been ranked in the Top 25 Poll.
