Beachside Little League Spring 2017 Majors Rules

Length of Game Per Little League 2107 Rule Book. 6 innings and there is NO time limit. Substitutions/Defense Play Per Little League 2107 Rule Book. Base Running Per Little League 2107 Rule Book. Batting Per Little League 2107 Rule Book. Little League International has approved a rule which requires the batter to keep one foot in the batter’s box between pitches (with the obvious exceptions; play at the plate, foul ball, etc). Players are not to wonder or speak to the coach. BSLL has adapted this rule to regular season as well in ALL divisions Minor A and up. This is to keep the game moving. Players are not permitted to leave the dugout at any time. If they need to use the restroom, the umpire must be notified that the player is leaving the dugout prior to them doing so. The player is then allowed to go directly to the restroom, then directly back to the dugout. They are not permitted to stop anywhere along the way; concession, friends, or even parents. This is a very strict rule that LLI has during tournament time and we all need to get used to it.

There is no on-deck batter in Majors. Players not up to bat are to remain in the dugout (Under the roof, not near the gate opening at all times unless they are batting). No player besides the batter is permitted to have bat in their hands. BATS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE DUGOUT. Bats are to placed in the bat rack or up against the fence. Pitching Per Little League 2107 Rule Book. Pitch count verification forms must be used and signed during and after each game. (The form can be found in the Documents section). The form must be signed by the opposing manager/coach after each game. If there is a question about a pitcher’s eligibility, the manager must show the signed form. If the form cannot be produced and the pitcher’s eligibly cannot be verified, the pitcher in question will NOT be allowed to pitch. Coaching There are 3 total coaches permitted inclusive of the manager. One of the coaches must remain in the dugout with their team. Make-up Games If a game is canceled due to weather, games can be made up, schedule permitting but are not required. Both managers must agree to make the game up and must agree on day/time. Clean Up Every team is responsible for cleaning up their dugout and dugout area after their game. The managers are ultimately responsible to make sure that the field is cleaned up inclusive of any spectator areas. Parents can do their part by not leaving trash in and around the bleachers. Any questions on any of the rules, please contact the player agent.
