Kids Crochet 101 Taught by Rebecca Baker (425) 351-9709 Yarn in a worsted weight – One skein/hank/ball will do until you decide on a specific project. I also strongly recommend that if you are a complete beginner, you chose light or bright colors, not black or anything very dark, for this first class. Any smooth, tightly twisted yarn like Sugar and Crème cotton (my personal favorite for beginners) or some superwash wools or wool blends are good choices for beginners. A VARIEGATED (NOT a ‘Self Striping” or tweed) yarn can be helpful. Crochet hook size “D” or “G” (3.5 mm – 4.5 mm) or anything in between Yarn or Tapestry needle with a blunt tip for weaving in yarn ends Pair of scissors and a few SMALL safety pins If you have a specific project or pattern you are interested in, bring it to class as well.
