saiah (eye ZAY uh) lived in Jerusalem in the country of Judah. Isaiah heard God say, “Who shall I send to tell people my message?” Isaiah said, “Send me, God. I will go.” Isaiah became a prophet. A prophet tells people what God wants them to know. God chose Isaiah to tell the people some wonderful news. Isaiah told people what God told him. He wrote about what God told him. Isaiah told and wrote words about God’s special plan. Isaiah wrote that a young woman would have a son, a special baby boy. The special baby would be God’s Son. The baby would be Jesus. God’s message helped the people know that Jesus would love all people. Jesus would help people understand more about God. He would grow into a man. He would be wise. He would help people know and love God. He would always do what is right and would help people. The words Isaiah wrote were printed on a Bible scroll. People who heard or read the words on the Bible scroll knew that God was planning to send His Son, Jesus.

Isaiah lived in Jerusalem. People think he was King Uzziah’s cousin because he was welcome in the king’s palace. Prophets sometimes told people what God said would happen. They also reminded people to honor God. Isaiah wrote about what was happening in Judah during his own life. He also wrote about Jesus, who was born 700 years later. The prophecies of a true prophet always come true, and they always help people know God better. Isaiah was a true prophet.
