FLOWABLE FILL TO BE PLACED UNDER EXCAVATED PORTION UNDER PIPE.

12"MIN. CAST-IN-PLACE 3000 PSI CONCRETE BASE ON TOP OF 12" NO. 8 STONE.

1. LOCATE AND EXCAVATE AROUND EXISTING PIPE TO ALLOW FOR INSTALLATION OF MANHOLE. CAUTION SHOULD BE USED WHILE DIGGING ADJACENT TO EXISTING SEWER LINE AS NOT TO DAMAGE IT. EXCAVATION DIRECTLY BELOW SEWER LINE TO BE DONE BY HAND AND IMMEDIATELY SUPPORTED WITH SOLID CONCRETE BLOCKS UNDERNEATH TO KEEP PIPE FROM SAGGING.

FLOWABLE FILL TO BE PLACED UNDER EXCAVATED PORTION UNDER PIPE.

2. NO. 8 STONE BASE SHOULD BE PLACE UNDER THE LOCATION OF THE PROPOSED MANHOLE TO APPROX. 1.5 TIMES THE DIAMETER OF THE STRUCTURE. 3. EXISTING PIPE SHOULD BE WRAPPED WITH NEOPRENE GASKET MATERIAL AT LOCATIONS OF THE MANHOLE OPENINGS. MANHOLE DOGHOUSE BASE SHOULD BE SET OVERTOP THE EXISTING PIPE AND SUPPORTED WITH SOLID CONCRETE BLOCKS TO 12" ABOVE THE STONE BASE TO ALLOW FOR CONCRETE BASE TO BE POURED.

NOTES:

4. CONCRETE CAST-IN-PLACE BASE SHOULD BE POURED WITH 3000 PSI CONCRETE. ALLOW CONCRETE TO FLOW OUTSIDE THE BASE STRUCTURE A MIN. OF 1'-0".

1. MANHOLE CONSTRUCTION AND ACCESSORIES ABOVE BASE SAME AS SHOW FOR STORM MANHOLE.

5. FILL THE DOGHOUSE OPENINGS WITH 3000 PSI CONCRETE OR NON-SHRINKING GROUT.

2. CONSTRUCT A FORMED INVERT FROM NEW SEWER LINE TO ALLOW FLOW TO THE EXISTING PIPE.

6. FORM CONCRETE BENCHWALLS INSIDE THE STRUCTURE TO THE SPRINGLINE OF THE EXISTING PIPE. SLOPE 1" PER FOOT TO BASE WALL. CONSTRUCT A FORMED INVERT FOR THE TWO PROPOSED PIPES ENTERING THE STRUCTURE. 7. USE FLOWABLE FILL TO BACKFILL IN AROUND EXCAVATED PIPE OUTSIDE THE BASE STRUCTURE TO A HEIGHT THAT IS 1/3 THE DIAMETER OF THE PIPE ABOVE THE INVERT ELEVATION.

3. CUT AND REMOVE THE TOP HALF OF THE EXISTING PIPE TO WITHIN 6" OF THE MANHOLE WALLS AFTER INVERT AND SHELF HAVE BEEN FORMED AND THE MANHOLE HAS BEEN FULLY TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE SPECIFICATIONS. 4. PROVIDED ADEQUATE PIPE SUPPORT DURING CONSTRUCTION TO PREVENT PIPE DAMAGE.

8. ALLOW CONCRETE AND FLOWABLE FILL TO HARDEN, AND INSTALL THE REMAINDER OF THE STRUCTURE (TOP, CASTING, ETC.) 9. MANHOLE SHOULD BE TESTED ACCORDING TO THE TOWN OF BROWNSBURG STANDARD STORM MANHOLE SPECIFICATIONS. 10. THE TOP HALF OF THE EXISTING PIPE TO WITHIN 6" OF THE MANHOLE WALLS SHOULD BE SAW-CUT OUT AND REMOVED. THE JOINT BETWEEN THE BENCH AND THE EXISTING PIPE SHALL BE SEALED WITH FLEXIBLE EPOXY.
