Property A spacious detached five bedroom family home found in a popular and sought-after Chestfield location. The property is set back from the road with a carriage driveway. Inside the property, to the ground floor, there are two reception rooms and a kitchen/breakfast room. On the first floor, you will find three bedrooms and a family bathroom; one of the bedrooms has an en-suite shower room. To the second floor, there are two further bedrooms. Externally, the good-sized rear garden has a paved patio and is mainly laid to lawn. Chestfield is a delightful village with its own golf club, cricket club and popular public house/restaurant. There is also a Sainsbury’s store and railway station providing a regular service to London and the Kent Coast. The popular seaside town of Whitstable is within 2 miles, where you will find a wide variety of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, and of course the popular beach. The Cathedral City of Canterbury is approximately 7 miles away where you will find numerous shopping, dining, cultural and educational facilities.
Our Time Here We were first drawn to the mock-Tudor appearance of the house, which gave it a characterful feel, while having all the modern comforts we would want from our family home. The size was another important aspect, having four bedrooms and room for expansion – we have since converted the loft so the house has 5 bedrooms. Without doubt, the lounge is the room we spend the most time in. We love the beautiful open fireplace, which makes the room a lovely and cosy place to relax in the winter. The location is ideal; it’s so quiet, with very little through traffic, and also very convenient to all the amenities you could possibly need. It’s a perfect place for families, having access to lots of really good schools, sports clubs, and the beaches. We are a quick stroll from the well-known 14th century Chestfield Barn bar and restaurant, and just 5 minutes walk away from the Chestfield Golf Course, which is one of the oldest courses in the country! We enjoy taking our dog for walks in the surrounding fields and countryside, and in the summer time it’s a pleasant 25 minute walk down to Whitstable Harbour. We’ve lived here for 31 years, and this has been a wonderful family home in a great location. Our three daughters grew up in this house and we have many happy memories of our time here. We are now looking to downsize, but we will certainly stay in Chestfield, as we love it here so much.
