Supplies Needed [to make one Table Topper] • 1 pkg. Fabric Palette® Hexagons (24 pieces - 3 each of 8 designs) • 1 meter pkg. Fabric Palette® coordinating fabric (Backing) • 1 - 22" x 26" Batting • Removable fabric pencil or marker • Chopstick/wooden dowel • Rotary cutter, mat and acrylic ruler • Basic sewing supplies • Sewing machine • Iron and pressing surface • Walking foot (optional)

B efore you begin Read all instructions before beginning project. Do not pre-wash fabrics. If needed, press fabrics with a dry iron on cotton setting. Use a ¼" seam allowance and sew fabrics with right sides together (RST) unless otherwise noted. Backstitch at beginning and end of start and stop points.

1. Refer to Diagram A to mark a ¼" seam on the wrong side of all Hexagons to show start and stop points. Lay out 23 Hexagons in seven rows as pictured or place as desired. 2. Pin the two Hexagons in Row 1 RST along one edge; sew and finger press seam open. Note: ¼" will not be sewn on either side of the start and stop points (Dia. B).

4. Refer to Diagram D to pin and sew the first Hexagons of Row 1 and Row 2 RST at start and stop points (D1 & D2). To sew the next Hexagon in Row 1 and Row 2, pull the first Hexagon from Row 2 to the left so that it folds in half. Pin the second Hexagon from Row 1 to the second Hexagon of Row 2 at the start and stop points; sew (D3). Pin and sew one side at a time, repeating down the row until all Hexagons are attached in Row 1 and Row 2 (D4). Finger press seams open. Row 2

6. Sew the two Backing pieces (11" x 26") RST, leaving a 5" opening in center for turning; press seam open (Dia. F). Dia. F

5. Follow Step 4 to attach remaining rows (Dia. E). Press all seams open.

3. Repeat Step 2 for Rows 2 through 7.

7. Pin Table Topper and Backing RST. Cut along Table Topper Row 1 & 2 sewn together edges so that the Backing is the same shape as the Table Topper; remove pins.

Finishing 8. With the Table Topper and Backing RST, place the wrong side of the Table Topper on the batting. Trim batting to match Table Topper. Note: The wrong side of the Backing will be on top. Pin well and sew ¼" around all edges. Clip off all outer points and clip in to all corners, being careful not to cut seams (Dia. G). Turn right side out and carefully push corners out with chopstick or wooden dowel; press. Hand stitch opening closed.

9. Quilt ¼" around the inside of each Hexagon (Dia. H) or quilt as desired. Tip: Use a walking foot to help prevent the fabrics from shifting when quilting.

Finished Care Instructions Machine wash in cold water; gentle cycle. Lay flat to dry or tumble dry low.
