Classics Eagles Soccer * Select Soccer is more competitive than recreational soccer. Most players who play select soccer have played for several years in either a recreational league or in the select soccer program. Classics Eagles provides more opportunity for practices and games, along with providing instruction from a licensed, professional coach. * Classics Eagles teams apply to participate in the Mid-Ohio Select Soccer League (MOSSL), the Buckeye Premier Youth Soccer League (BPYSL), the Ohio South State League (OSSL), the Region II Midwest League (MRL) and/or US Youth National League. * The league options vary by age group and competitive level of each team. The team’s coach along with the Directors will evalaute the team’s needs and competitive level before deciding on league placement/applicaiton. Some of the leagues are invitation only and require an applicaiton process before acceptance is confirmed.

Tryout Process * Tryouts are held over a three day period for each age group. Players are encouraged to attend as many days as possible to allow our evaluators and coaching staff the opportunity to assess their skills. Attendance at all sessions is not mandatory. * Evaluators will assess and rank individual players based on their performance at the tryout sessions they attend. The assessment will be on technical ability, small group and game-situation performance. * Each tryout session will last approximately 75-90 minutes. At the end of the third night of an age group/gender tryout, the evaluator assessments are supplemented with input from the coaching staff and the Director of Coaching.

Team Formation * At the end of each tryout week, the evaluation team (independent evaluators, coaches and DOC) will meet to review the player’s evaluations and create the teams for next year. * We will work to form as many teams as possible to allow everyone who wants to play select soccer the opportunity to play. Some teams will be more competitive than others; but, we will focus on the developmental needs of each player & team, and will place them in the appropriate level of play. * We begin extending offers for a spot on a Classics Eagles teams on the Sunday following tryouts promptly at 2:00 PM Tryout results (player number) will be posted on the Classics Eagles website. The Notification process will be reviewed at the parent meeting on the last night of tryouts for each age group. The posting of tryout results may be supplemented with phone calls from a member of the Classics Eagles staff . The goal is to expedite the notification process so children are not waiting all day to hear from a coach. * “Playing Up” -- Players must ask the Directors of Coaching for permission to tryout for the next higher age group. A player will be evaluated against all the players in that age group. The decision on placement of players, who attempt to play “up” will be made by the evaluators, coaching staff and Directors of Coaching. Directors will assess both the players individual needs and his/her ability to contribute to the team’s performance.

Time Commitment What is the time commitment for a player who joins a Classics Eagles team? It is extremely important to understand that upon acceptance of an offer to play, the commitment to the Classics Eagles soccer program is for one entire year (August through the end of May/June). The commitment is to be honored by all Parents, Coaches and Administrators of the team. Fall Season: August, September, October/November) • Teams practice 2-4 times per week during the month of August. All indoor training takes place at the SuperKick Training Facility in the Orangepointe Commerce Center in Lewis Center. Winter indoor training days may not be the same as your team’s outdoor practice schedule. Teams train 1x per week for 10 weeks starting around January 2nd. Teams have the option of playing in indoor leagues at SuperKick and other indoor facilities in the Central Ohio area. These arrangements are managed by each team’s coach. Classics Eagles and its indoor training facility partner SuperKick do offer a wide variety of optional training programs at significantly discounted rates to Classics Eagles families. Where do Classics Eagles teams practice? Play Games?

Practices: Classics Eagles teams utilize practice locations within their home community. For example, CE Olentangy teams practice in Powell and Lewis Center. These sites are scheduled by the club directors so they are used in compliance with the arrangements set forth by the parks, school and churches granting access. We respect our relationships with these facilities and treat them well. As a club, we ask coaches to provide a balanced training and game schedule that distributes equitably the travel demands for playing on a CEFC team. League Games: Teams are entered into leagues that best match their competitive level each season Mid Ohio Select Soccer League (MOSSL) -- Classics Eagles Premier teams U10 to U12 age groups Buckeye Premier Youth Soccer League (BPYSL) -- Classics Eagles Premier teams U10 to U12 age groups The Premier League (TPL) -- Classics Eagles Premier teams U11 to U12 age groups
