COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY INTRAMURAL SPORTS WRESTLING TOURNAMENT RULES ALL CSU IM SPORTS PARTICIPANTS AND SPECTATORS ARE EXPECTED TO ADHERE TO AND ABIDE BY THE IM SPORTS POLICIES AND PROCEDURES AND CAMPUS RECREATION POLICIES.
I.
ELIGIBILITY – WHO CAN PLAY IM’S? a. HAVE CSU PHOTO ID? YOU CAN PLAY! All participants must show their CSU photo ID in order to play every match. This helps to ensure player eligibility. Please visit the RamCard office’s website to learn about replacements for lost or damaged RamCards. b. FULL-TIME CSU STUDENTS (6 or more credits and have paid the rec activity fee as part of their semester tuition) c. PART-TIME CSU STUDENTS who have a current Rec Membership – one that is valid during the dates they play d. FACULTY/STAFF who have a current Rec Membership – one that is valid during the dates they play e. SPOUSES who have a current Rec Membership – one that is valid during the dates they play f. CSU AFFILIATES who have a current Rec Membership – one that is valid during the dates they play g. FORMER VARSITY team members whose names do not appear on the current academic year’s NCAA varsity wrestling team roster can participate. h. CURRENT VARSITY, semi-professional (receiving monetary pay for playing), professional, and Olympic athletes: Any participant whose name has appeared on a wrestling team roster in the current academic year for any of these types of teams or organizations is ineligible to participate in this event. This includes “red” and “grey” shirts. i. CLUB WRESTLING ATHLETES are eligible to participate in this event.
II.
TOURNAMENT RULES: a. Wrestlers will compete in a TWO-DAY, DOUBLE-ELIMINATION tournament b. Divisions & Weight Classes – Wrestlers will compete in the Men’s or Women’s division at their respective weight class. The following weight classes will be used for both divisions: 125, 133, 141, 149, 157, 165, 174, 184, 197, 235, and 285. **Tournament officials reserve the right to combine weight classes if participation is limited** c. Wrestlers will be required to weigh-in the night before the tournament, and will compete the following day. d. In order to remain eligible for advancement throughout the tournament, Wrestlers must maintain a minimum 2.0 sportsmanship rating average. If an individual drops below a 2.0 average, they will be removed from the event without refund. **Wrestlers receiving less than a 2.0 sportsmanship rating in any tournament match will not advance regardless of the result of the contest.** See the IM Policies & Procedures for sp. rating criteria.

e. FORFEITS: Match time listed on the schedule is forfeit time, and players must be checked in and ready to wrestle at their scheduled match time. IF A PLAYER FORFEITS ANY MATCH, THEY ARE REMOVED FROM THE TOURNAMENT. III.
MATCH RULES: a. All matches will be played using modified high school rules. b. Matches will consist of 3, 90 second periods, followed by a 60 second sudden victory overtime period when necessary.
IV.
EQUIPMENT RULES: a. All participants will be required to wear appropriate wrestling shoes. b. Wrestling singlets and head gear are both optional, participants must provide their own. c. Wrestlers will be required to wear shorts and a t-shirt if they don’t have a singlet, no “skins” will be allowed.
V.
FACILITY INFORMATION: a. All matches will take place at the South College Field House. Weigh-ins will also take place at South College Field House unless otherwise noted during registration. b. All wrestlers should enter the gym from the west side of the building, public locker rooms are available on site. c. Spectators are allowed in the facility.
