Communicating Promptly for Maximum Credibility & Trust Prompt, immediate and urgent communication builds credibility and trust. High credibility and trust is very attractive and charismatic. People like to interact with people that help them fulfill their need for certainty and avoid the limiting emotion of uncertainty. The idea here is not to communicate so that everything is seen as “urgent,” yet, we should be stepping up and communicating with a sense of urgency that time is often critical and delayed responses and follow through will hurt trust and credibility. There are a number of factors that limit our ability to communicate in this manner and we will explore some of those key issues in this lesson. Definition: Communication that is proactive and takes place at “the first most appropriate time,” overcoming Communication Sin #3 “A Lack of Immediacy, Urgency & Promptness.” Manifestations: List at least 3 communication contexts in which you fail to communicate as promptly and immediately as you should?
