Pattern #19966 – BEI1 (tossed boots/hats): 1. Cut one 31/2" strip. Pattern #19966 – BLU1 (tossed boots/hats): 1. Cut one 31/2" strip. Pattern #19965 – ORA1 (denim): 1. Cut two 31/2" strips. Pattern #19964 – BLU1 (dots): 1. Cut one 37/8" strip; subcut six 37/8" squares. Cut each square in half diagonally to yield twelve half-square triangles. E. Pattern #19965 – LTORA1 (denim): 1. Cut one 37/8" strip; subcut six 37/8" squares. Cut each square in half diagonally to yield twelve half-square triangles. 2. Cut six 3" strips; sew together end to end and press. Cut two 3" x 611/2" and two 3" x 471/2". F. Pattern #19962 – MUL1 (tossed kids): 1. Cut six 43/4" squares centering a motif (on point) within each one. G. Pattern #20063 – BRO1 (rope): 1. Cut one 51/8" strip; subcut four 51/8" squares. Cut each square in half diagonally to yield eight half-square triangles. H. Pattern #19965 – GRE1 (denim): 1. Cut one 51/8" strip; subcut four 51/8" squares. Cut each square in half diagonally to yield eight half-square triangles. I. Pattern #19964 – YEL1 (dots): 1. Cut one 61/2" strip; subcut four 61/2" squares. J. Pattern #19964 – ORA1 (dots): 1. Cut two 61/2" strips; subcut two 61/2" x 231/2" sections. K. Pattern #20063 – CRE1 (rope): 1. Cut four 3" strips. Trim the length of two strips to 3" x 231/2". Trim the remaining strips to 3" x 421/2". L. Pattern #19967 – BLU1 (stripe): 1. Cut five 11/2" strips; sew together end to end and press. Cut two 11/2" x 591/2" lengths and two 11/2" x 421/2" lengths. M. Pattern #19965 – DKBLU1 (denim): 1. Cut six 41/2" strips; sew together end to end and press. Cut two 41/2" x 661/2" lengths and two 41/2" x 551/2" lengths. N. Pattern #19961 – MUL1 (panel): 1. Trim panel to measure 231/2" x 421/2". Four-Patch Block: Sew one 31/2" [A] strip to one 31/2" [C] strip. Press toward [C]. Cut strip set into eight 31/2" segments. Repeat using one 31/2" [B] strip and one 31/2" [C] strip. Sew one [A/C] unit to one [B/C] unit to make one four-patch block. Repeat to make eight blocks.
Diamond-in-a-Square Block: Refer to photo and diagram for fabric placement. Sew a [D] triangle to opposite sides of a [F] square. Press toward the triangles. Sew an [E] triangle to remaining sides of square; press. Make six blocks. Diamond-in-a-Square Border Block: Sew a [G] triangle to opposite sides of an [I] square. Press toward the triangles. Sew an [H] triangle to remaining sides of square; press. Make four blocks.

Diamond-in-a-Square Block Finished size: 6" square Make three blocks of each.

G Refer to Quilt Diagram below. H Sew one side block section together alternating four Diamond-in-a-Square four-patch blocks with three diamond-in-a-square Border Block blocks. Press toward four-patch blocks. Repeat. Sew a 3" x 421/2" [K] strip to one side of each block section. Finished size: 8½" square Make four blocks Press toward [K] strip. Sew side sections to sides of 1 1 panel. Press toward the panel. Sew together a 6 /2" x 23 /2" [J] strip to a 3" x 231/2" [K] strip. Press toward [J]. Repeat. Sew a border diamond-in-a-square block to ends of both sets. Press toward the blocks. Sew to top and bottom of panel unit.

1st Border: Sew one 11/2" x 591/2" [L] strip to each side of the quilt. Sew remaining [L] strips to the top and bottom. Press all seams toward the [L] borders. 2nd Border: Sew one 3" x 611/2" [E] strip to each side of the quilt. Sew remaining [E] strips to the top and bottom of the quilt top. Press all seams toward the [E] borders. 3rd Border: Sew one 41/2" x 661/2" [M] strip to each side of the quilt. Sew remaining [M] strips to the top and bottom of the quilt top. Press all seams toward the [M] borders.
Finishing:
1. Prepare backing using two widths of fabric. Seam to be placed horizontally with quilt top. 2. Layer quilt top, batting and backing. Baste layers together. 3. Quilt as desired and trim layers even with quilt top. 4. Prepare binding and sew to quilt using your favorite method. 5. Make a hanging sleeve and label if desired. M
