The International Cricket Council wishes to appoint a
Finance and Operations Officer – Americas
The International Cricket Council (‘ICC’) is the global governing body for the sport, which administers all aspects of international cricket. Its Development Programme has specific strategic objectives aimed at the sustainable development and strengthening of the sport globally. We are currently seeking a Finance and Operations Officer for the Americas region based in our Colorado Springs office. The role works closely with the Finance and Operations Manager, to implement the provisions of the ICC Development Funding Policy and ICC Membership criteria, oversee the annual data census, deliver regional qualifying events and manage a range of special projects within the region and globally. Principal Accountabilities Responsibilities of the Finance and Operations Officer – Americas will include but are not limited to the following:
Managing the ICC Development Funding Policy, including oversight of Member Federation operational plans, budgets and reporting requirements and monitoring of ongoing membership compliance;
Planning, budgeting, executing and delivering all regional qualifying events across all three formats i.e. men’s, women’s, and Under 19 men’s; Managing regional and global projects as required, including biennial regional conferences, the ongoing development and improvement of a global database solution for data collection, and other bespoke projects (particularly technology-based solutions) that evolve out of the Global Growth Strategy; Providing regular and holistic support and advice to Member Federations in the region as their key ICC point of contact;
Coordinating the annual ICC data collection and verification process from Member Federations in the region for census and funding purposes;
Using participation, performance, capability and financial data collected from Member Federations to effectively monitor and evaluate progress against the ICC Global Growth Strategy, analyse trends and highlight opportunities and issues;
Managing regional finances including Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables and quarterly reporting; and
Contributing proactively to, and seeking and creating opportunities for collaboration within the ICC Global Development Department.
Knowledge, Skills, Attitude and Experience
A tertiary degree in a relevant area;
Strong budgeting, financial management and analytical skills;
Strong Project Management Experience;
Event management experience, including excellent organisational and planning skills with a keen eye for detail;
Good understanding of IT (e.g. with CRM systems) to support ICC’s Development Department in developing better technology solutions to support its Global Growth Strategy;
Computer literate including strong Excel, Database and Word skills;
Experience in working with people from different cultural backgrounds and a capacity to build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders through strong interpersonal skills;
Motivated and enthusiastic attitude;
A team player with the energy and passion to take initiative and seek continuous improvement;
Exceptional time management skills including the ability to work remotely and independently;
Demonstrated self-management and organisational abilities;
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; and
A passion for sport and an understanding of and experience in the sports industry, particularly a regional, national or international federation, is highly desirable.
Conditions of employment
The position reports to the ICC’s Finance and Operations Manager and is based in Colorado Springs;
The role involves regular working hours while recognising the need to be flexible, at times, considering different time zones and travel commitments (including across weekends);
There will be a reasonable amount of travel required as part of this role (approximately 10-12 weeks across a year);
Candidates must have existing USA work credentials and no overseas relocation will be provided;
The selected candidate will be required to provide two recent work references; and
Compensation offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
