When comparing the length of more than two objects use the words longest or shortest.
Steps: 1. Put the objects in order from shortest to longest. 2. Compare the first object to the second object. 3. Compare the second object to the third object. 4. Indirectly compare the first object with the third object.
The marker is shorter than the hammer.
