Glenwood Athletic Boosters Meeting Board Meeting: August 23, 2016
Athletic Director: Dusty Burke Board Members present: Gilmore, Hobbie, L. Meyers, Smith, Wilson, J. Meyers, Thornton, Fletcher Members Present: Molly Gilleland, Joshua Wilson, Rhonda Allen, Casey Wichmann, Marlo Johnson, Dawn LaFountain, Joe Hardwick, Lance Williams, Lisa Sandvos, Julie Holmes
Gilmore called meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the GHS commons. Introductions were made of new officers, new A.D., New A.D. secretary, and members in attendance. Kara Davis of KEEP Collection was introduced and presented to the members a fundraising idea to help support the Titans. She presented a plan to offer bracelets, key chains, and necklaces that would show Titian spirit. She proposed to sell her product and share 50% of her 25% commission to the Athletic Boosters. Provided financial report for YTD; June 2016-August 22, 2016. Balance of August 22, 2016 in the main account $51,533.13 and balance in the spirit wear is $6,131.01 for a combined total of $57,664.14. There are awards pending for Coach’s request. See old business for requests:
Old Business:
Gilmore reported on the Golf outing. The total made on the outing was $4,500.00. We are still waiting on six hole sponsors of $2,000.00. Once these funds are received our earnings will be $6,500.00. The Athletic Boosters sponsors the GHS Golf Teams at Piper Glen Golf club at a cost of $6,000.00 per year.
Gilmore presented funding request from various Coaching staff over the summer. The motion to approve funds was made by Molly Hobbie and seconded by Amy Wilson. All members voted unanimously to approve the following requests: Sport

New Business:
Hobbie reported an excellent response to the new spirit wear on Meet the Titans and GMS home football. The spirit wear had receipts of $6500.00. There are several new designs and shirt styles. Hobbie has ordered several new styles for the upcoming cooler weather and new jackets, hats, long sleeve shirts and sweatshirts have been ordered and will be in stock for upcoming football games. A new spirit wear committee was formed to help with design and style ideas. Those members will include; Molly Hobbie, Kristy Fletcher, Lisa Sandvos, and Dawn LaFountain. The motion to create the committee was made by Molly Hobbie and seconded by Lorie Meyers.
Gilmore reported on the membership drive. Membership is down from last year and a new incentive plan was discussed. A few suggestions included t-shirts, food items, special seating/parking, and mugs. This discussion was tabled for a later date once we have pricing on the incentives. If incentives are introduced, all prior memberships will be included and awarded the correlating incentive.
Glenwood Athletic Boosters Meeting
L. Meyers talked in regards to the vandalism damage done to the concession trailer. The trailer suffered extensive damage from someone tearing off the aluminum door and frame. The bid from Trailer Masters came back with a cost of $900.00 to repair. They are currently seeking other bids to see if a better price could be obtained. They also fixed the air vent on the roof to prevent rain from entering the trailer. Zach Thornton is contacting Pepsi to inquire if they will let us use one of their trailers for the football season while repairs are investigated.
Wilson and J. Meyers reported on the progress of setting up lead parents for athletic events for the fall season. Currently the following parents have volunteered for their child’s sport: Sport

Gilmore discussed concession stands and what is allowed for each of the volunteers. This lengthy discussion with the members and A.D. Burke was resolved with each volunteer awarded with one free drink and one free food item. Coaches will be given one free drink and one free food item. Officials for games will be given items needed at the concession stand as needed. Gilmore presented new request from coaches and trainer for supplies. A.D. Burke introduced the new A.D. assistant as Molly Gilleland. Welcome!
Gilmore motioned to add two new officer positions. These two officer positions will be Officer at Large. These positions will assist with all aspects of the officers now and be in communication with the community members regarding events and marketing. Amy Wilson second the motion to elect Zach Thornton and Kristy Fletcher. Motion was approved unanimously by all members present.
