GCSE History Revision Sessions
Dear Parent/Guardian
As you are aware your child will be sitting their GCSE History exams in June.
Paper 1 – Monday 6th June Paper 2 – Tuesday 14th June
To give your child the best possible opportunity to prepare the History department is offering four weeks of afterschool revision sessions before Easter and another 7 weeks of afterschool revision sessions after Easter. These sessions are open to all GCSE History students and will cover all of the topics that could come up in the exams. These sessions are voluntary but we would expect your child to attend at least one session a week to supplement, not replace their own revision that should be completed at home. Please see the attached timetable with dates, times and topics for this half term. If your child has been identified as underperforming by their class teacher or at risk of not achieving their target grade could you please urge your child to attend these sessions – there will be opportunities to spend more time one to one with a teacher who can provide personalised support and intervention which is not always possible in the classroom environment. Can we stress that it is not too early to start preparing or too late to act. Sessions will take place in GA2, GE1 or GE2 depending on the night and will last from 3.30-4.30pm. There is a free school bus so that your child is able to get home safely. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch via telephone or my school email –
