Forever In Our Hearts INCA Community Services is deeply saddened at the news of the death of our friend and coworker, Sue Staats. Her dedication, devotion, energy and love for people along with her strong belief in our agency will continue to inspire and strengthen us as we deal with this tragedy in the coming days. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with her husband, Doug, her children and family. Sue had been with the agency since 2001, serving as Atoka County Community Outreach Worker, transit route supervisor and was currently serving as Transit Operations Manager. Sue Staats started the Medical Lending Closet in Atoka County and in lieu of flowers and in memory of her we will be collecting money to purchase equipment for the lending closet. Even though she’s gone her memory still remains in our hearts. Her smile and face will never fade. We think of her as we go on each day. The good times we remember and the days spent together will be in our memories forever. So when we start to get down and really want to cry we just think of the fun “spangdangly” times and don’t wonder why. Just leave it at that and know she’s in a better place. Her heart was right with God. So Sue we love you and we miss you so much but we know you’re much happier. So watch over us and make sure we’re okay and we will see you again someday.

IN MEMORY OF We are deeply saddened to announce the death of our friend and co-worker, Joyce Lawson, on August 4, 2011. Joyce had worked for the agency for 22 years and served as RSVP Director for 15 of those years. Joyce had a great love for working with people and especially the retired and elderly. She began working for INCA as a transportation driver. A couple of years after she started to work she was promoted to be RSVP Coordinator for Murray County and was later hired as RSVP Director. Joyce served RSVP Director for over 15 years and was committed to making a difference in the lives of the volunteers and individuals she came in contact with.

BACKPACKS FOR NUTRITION Sooner Foods has partnered with INCA in Sulphur in establishing a Backpacks For Nutrition program. INCA has identified a number of children who need nutritional requirements on weekends when they are void of the school lunch program. Sooner Foods will fill the backpacks with nutritional food items and INCA will deliver the packs to the children each week on Friday. INCA will also return the backpacks each week so Sooner Foods can fill them again. Some examples of the food that will go in the backpacks are applesauce, fruit juices, peanut butter, nut meats, cereal, apples, oranges and banana.
