SDT Ticket Information in the Mail The February Building to Excellence Newsletter has been mailed. Included in the newsletter is information about the dinner theater as well as the ticket order form. Tickets for the event are mail order, advance sale and cost $40.00. The first ticket orders will be filled by random drawing on Thursday, Feb. 18. After that date orders will be filled on a daily basis. Walk-in sales begin on Monday, March 7. “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” will be given on March 31, April 1 & 2, doors will open at 5:00 and supper being served at 6:00. Come enjoy an evening of fabulous food and a wonderful evening.

New Date for Lil’ Vikings Cheer Camp The James Valley Christian community lost a dear friend this week, one who has served our school and the Huron area in a variety of ways. In an attempt to honor those who would like to attend her funeral, cheerleading camp will now be held on Tuesday, February 16, from 3:30-5:30 and Wednesday, February 17, from 3:30-5:30. Lil' Viking Cheerleaders will perform during halftime of the varsity boys basketball game against Wessington Springs on Friday, February 19. If your family has a conflict or perhaps the new dates work for your child and you would like more information please contact the school office or Coach Fast at [email protected]. JVCS Executive Board Highlights The JVCS Executive Board met on Monday, Feb. 8 at 5:30. Reports were given and approved by the secretary, treasurer, elementary principal, high school principal, development director and administrator. Old Business: Continued revising section 1 of a Board Policy Manual – Board Governance and decided to not stay with current school property and liability insurance company. New Business: discussion about 2016-17 school calendar, discussed and approved increase in building rental fees, discussed and decided to review our financial aid policy. Discussed potential speakers for future fall banquets. Approved: Northwestern Energy’s rate offer for 2016-17 school year, Hot Lunch seconds for January, Resignation of Al Palsma as 5th-12th grade band instructor and Jory Wipf as head soccer coach at the end of 2015-16. Tuition and salaries for 2016-17, 4% salary increase for all faculty and staff, Tuition increase-$20/month, Increase student registration fee by $5. Open positions: 5-12 grade band teacher, head volleyball and head soccer coach Spring Open House for March 6, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Set next Exec. Board meeting for March, 9, at 6:30 and March 14, at 5:30.

Congratulations on a Superior Performance Congratulations to the cast and crew of “The Trials of Goldilocks” for the superior rating they earned at the State Festival in Sioux Falls. Outstanding ensemble awards were earned by the three bear ensemble and the jury ensemble. The three bears ensemble included Katrina Baltzer, Evan Gross and Savanah Gross. Jury members were, Keziah Appel, Marissa Brondsema, Mitchell Dale, Jacob Gross, Cassandra Koel, Haylie Krogstad, AbbyRose Miller, J.J. Waldner, Mitchell Wipf. Individual outstanding awards went to Miranda Blom, Sean Hoffmann, Blake Mendel and Brenda Wipf.
