PLAYER ELIGIBILITY: WHO CAN PLAY?  Players CANNOT play on 2 men’s or 2 women’s teams  Current academic year varsity basketball athletes CANNOT play.(Includes red/grey shirts)  Former college varsity basketball players can play, limited to 1 per roster (Rec League only)

 Games with ineligible players will be forfeited  It is the captain’s responsibility to know the eligibility of their entire team

ONLINE ROSTERS

 Players must be on the online roster to be legal players.  If a player is NOT on the score sheet because: 1. Joined after 3pm, or 2. Technical difficulty, or 3. Just got picked up by the team that night, then: They can be written-in. Score sheets and online rosters will then be compared 2 business days later at 5:00pm. (Once a player checksin for a team they are a member of that team) Write-ins from the score sheet that are NOT on the online roster by that time will be considered illegal players, and the match result will be changed to a forfeit. (Even if the game is won by forfeit).  Players cannot be deleted/removed from rosters by captains or players. Please contact IM office to do this. – Email/phone/in-person

 Rosters are locked after your last regular season match.

FORFEITS  Game time is forfeit time  If one team has players present, but not enough to start a game, the prepared team has the following options: 1. Take the win by forfeit, OR 2. Give your opponent an additional 5 minutes to field an eligible team

 Forfeits count worse than losses  Sp. rating of 1  2 FF = eliminated from playoffs

(and possibly from the league)

DEFAULTS  Must contact IM office (email, phone, or in-person) by 12pm day of match (or Friday, for weekend matches)

 Worse than a loss in standings, but better than a FF  Sp. Rating of 2

SPORTSMANSHIP RATINGS 3 = Above Average 2 = Average 1 = Below Average 0 = Unacceptable

Must Maintain A  Teams receiving 1 or 0 must meet with IM Staff 2.0aAverage before next match. To Be Eligible & 3-on-3 Basketball / Men's Rec. League / THU. Advance 7:30PM Through Playoffs Team

EQUIPMENT/UNIFORM RULES  REQUIRED:  Non-marking athletic, closed toe shoes  Same-colored shirts/jerseys (#s not required)  2nd team listed on score sheet must wear IM jerseys if teams arrive with the same color

NOT PERMITTED  “Skins”  Hard-brimmed hats  Jewelry  For contact sports (basketball included), players CANNOT wear jewelry  Covering jewelry with tape or bandage is NOT permitted

LINEUP, ROSTERS, & SUBS  3-on-3  6-player max roster  Min. of 3 players required to play  Subs can be made during any dead ball.

GAME RULES R-P-S for ball or defense 1st to 21 by 1’s & 2’s

Not “make-it-take-it” One 30-sec. time out per game Check line = 3-pt. line On any change of possession, ball must be taken anywhere outside of 3-pt. line

Cannot dribble off the check

GAME RULES  Fouls/Violations:  Teams will call their own fouls and violations.  If unable to come to agreement the possession will be replayed

 Foul Rule:   

Shot made= ball to other team Shot missed= ball stays with offended team @ check line Flagrant Foul= Ejection. Ball remains with offended team.

 RIM RESTRICTION:  In order to respect and preserve the facility and equipment, players are not permitted to grab or snap the rim before or after the game. This will result in a lowered sportsmanship rating for that night’s game, and a 5-point penalty being awarded to the opposing team applied to the game after it occurs.

EJECTIONS  Ejected players must leave the gym

 Must meet with an IM Sports professional staff member prior to being permitted to participate in any IM event again  Min. 1-week susp. from ALL IM participation

 Depending on severity/nature of incident, Student Recreation Center membership/access may also be suspended

PLAYOFF SCHEDULES  Schedules will be posted online after the end of regular season (emails will go out at least 24 hours before playoffs start).  Teams will play on different nights/times than they did in regular season  Teams may make scheduling request for first round games if they have conflicts, however no guarantees will be made to honor such requests, and no request will be considered after the schedules are published online.
