Beyond The Pulpit: Rev. Kim Holley
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! As we bring a close to 2016, I look back with mixed emotions. We, as the FCC family, had a rollercoaster of a ride this past year. We celebrated some great accomplishments and laid to rest some of our dearest family members. But through it all, I feel we have grown together as a family all while our family has continued to grow. We do not know what 2017 holds in store for us as a church family or as individuals. My prayer is that we will continue to grow closer and work together in a spirit of cooperation as we serve our Savior. As we bring in 2017, we are starting the year off with a bang! As you may have heard, we have a prospective pastor coming to spend New Year’s with us. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take the time out of your holiday festivities to take part in the meet and greets that are planned as well as worship on January 1. This is an exciting time in the life of the church and we need to give the Holy Spirit as much of our attention as possible in order to follow its guiding in this situation. (The schedule for the coming weekend is provided in the newsletter.) In this edition of the newsletter, we have included a look back at 2016 in addition to a look forward at events and activities that are already scheduled for 2017. The calendar year may be coming to an end, but our work for the Lord is still running wide open. Save or print the “looking forward” page so that you don’t miss any of the great things that we will have going on this year. It’s sure to be another great year for FCC! Lastly, I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to you all. You all have blessed my family and me beyond words. Your support through this year has been more of a blessing than words can express. We love you all and cannot wait to continue this journey together! Happy New Year my friends!
In Christ’s love, Kim

“EXPLORE CHRISTIAN INSIGHT THROUGH EDUCATION” All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be equipped for every good work. —2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)
Christian Education is the means through which we learn, grow, and gain wisdom in regards to the God-breathed Word. We are never too young to start and never too old to stop learning about our Lord. As we enter the new year, you will begin to see the word EXCITE more often. We have adopted this acronym as the title for all the education that takes place in our church regardless of the person’s age and regardless of when the education takes place.
EXCITE will include (but not be limited to): Sunday School Morning or evening Bible studies Women’s or Men’s studies Small groups Specialized studies Vacation Bible School Worship and Wonder
