warning!

This is an outdoor toy—never use it indoors. Always use your racer with adult supervision. Never point the racer at anyone once you have loaded the fuel. Do not pick up the racer or try to move the racer once you have started the launch process.

2 plot your course

Your racer gets its power from a chemical reaction between two ordinary kitchen items: baking soda and vinegar. Have an adult help you collect the items you will need. Be sure to put on clothes that can get messy.

Take your racer and supplies outside. Find a smooth, level place to set up. Try a sidewalk, patio, outdoor sports court, or other hard, smooth surface. Make sure you have at least a 35-foot straightaway in front of the launch site.

It’s a good idea to clean and dry the launch pad and rinse the inside of the racer after each launch.
