THE SERIES: Manhattanville leads the all-time series, 3-0. The schools previous met in 1984, 2009 and 2011 in Purchase, NY). This is firstever meeting in Jersey City, NJ. LAST MEETING: December 22, 2011 in Purchase, NY. NJCU shot 19.2 percent in the first half to fall behind 33-17 at halftime and couldn’t catch up as the Valiants won, 60-40. In defeat, Kerri Cassarello grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds. Delia Chernez added seven points and six rebounds. The Valiants were led by Taylor Wilson with 17 points and four steals and Alyson Caiazzo with a team-high 10 rebounds (eight defensive) LAST TIME OUT: On Wednesday, No. 23/25 Montclair State outscored NJCU in the second half, 44-19 and owned a decisive 37-6 advantage in points off turnovers as the Red Hawks remained unbeaten with a 76-41 NJAC victory. Gabrielle Rivera scored 10 of her team-best 12 points in the second half. Jade Medley reached double figures for the second straight game by scoring 10 points and shot a perfect 7-for-7 from the line. NEARING HALF A GRAND: Junior Alnisa Hernaiz enters action today needing 26 rebounds to become the 13th in program history to reach 500 for her career. She has 474 boards in 59 career games. Hernaiz ranks No. 2 in the NJAC in rebounding and third in defensive boards. Teammate Maxine Kaminski needs 21 more points for 500.

LAST TIME OUT: On December 5, Manhattanville outscored NYU by 15 points in the second half to defeat the Violets, 6459. Taylor Wilson led with a career-high 28 points. Shayna Robinson added 12 points and five rebounds while Alyson Caiazzo supplied 14 rebounds, nine points, four blocks and three steals. WILSON HONORED: Senior Taylor Wilson was named the Freedom Conference Player of the Week for the fourth week of play. The guard has been Manhattanville’s leading scorer this season, averaging 18.0 points per game. Wilson has 883 career points and is on route to make the top-20 of Manhattanville’s all-time scoring list. ANOTHER THREAT: Sophomore 6-foot-1 center Alyson Caiazzo was Freedom Player of the Week on November 26. She leads the league in rebounds.
