Mount Washington Church of God

Sundays at 9:30 AM

Sunday Worship @ 10:30 AM - Wednesday Encounter @ 7 PM

This morning we are in the third week of our partnership with the History Channel and Outreach.com to bring you the program entitled, “The Bible: A 30 Day Experience.” “The Bible” is an epic five-week, ten-hour television miniseries that premiered two weeks ago, March 3rd, 2013, on the History Channel. For two hours each Sunday night millions of viewers are watching as the Bible comes to life in a way never before seen – with episodes airing each week. The final episode of the miniseries will air on Easter Sunday and will feature the death and resurrection of Jesus. Each week throughout the month of March we will be ministering and sharing the stories of the Bible offering insight and encouragement meant to enhance the viewing of the miniseries episodes for that week. This morning, our Senior Pastor, Scott Fahl, shares with us a glimpse of tonight’s episode in a message called, “From Victim to Victor!”

Next Saturday, March 23 we are having a Spring Cleaning Day here at our church facilities. Join us at 8:30 AM and help us spruce up the place and provide the house of God with a little TLC. Coffee and donuts will be provided as well as lunch for those who participate. So come dressed in your best cleaning attire and bring your favorite cleaning supplies and let’s send some dust bunnies running - Let’s get the church ready for Easter! rd

PLEASE NOTE: In preparation for our Spring Cleaning Saturday, we will be taking a special offering today to purchase light bulbs. All of the light bulbs in the sanctuary will be replaced with lower wattage bulbs (for safety reasons) on the 23rd.

Next Sunday (March 24th) is Palm Sunday, a day we celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, the week before his death and resurrection. Palm Sunday, often referred to as "Passion Sunday," marks the beginning of Holy Week, which concludes on Easter Sunday. The Bible reveals to us that when Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds greeted him by waving palm branches and covering his path with palm branches. Immediately following this great time of celebration in the ministry of Jesus, he begins his journey to the cross. Invite your family and friends and join us Palm Sunday as we focus our attention on the victorious sacrifice of our Savior.

Easter is just around the corner! We will be having an Easter Egg Hunt following our service on March 31st. We are asking you to start bringing in candy (that we will place in plastic eggs for the hunt). You can drop your candy in the basket in the foyer. And don’t forget to invite your friends and family and join us for a day of fellowship and celebration! The YWEA Missions contributions are due by March 24 th. There are still envelopes available in the foyer if you’d like to participate.

On Easter Sunday (March 31st), our youth are traveling to Great Wolf Lodge in Mason, Ohio for an overnight adventure. They’ve been raising money and now it’s time to raise the roof and have a little fun! They’ll be leaving immediately following our morning Worship Service and Easter Egg Hunt. They will be returning late Monday evening. If you have any questions, please see Sister Kathy Brigmon today.
