There has been an abundance of activity at CISC from the administrative side (with a new Executive Director) to the activities and training your son and daughter receives on the pitch. Our focus, as it has always been at CISC, is to develop young soccer players into well-rounded young adults. !

On the pitch we are working to raise the level, quantity and quality of training for CISC players. Well developed teams with players capable of walking on any pitch with the confidence to contribute as a team player.!

Our supplemental training was born out of this commitment to player development and for those who have attended we have seen improvement in their technical skills. These free supplemental trainings are a great way to improve all aspects of your game.!

For multi-sport players CISC offers a variety of ways for players to get touches while playing other sports. We have a staff that is committed to finding ways to increase our players ability and make the sport more enjoyable.!

NSCAA Recap… ! The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Annual Convention made its triumphant return to the City of Brotherly Love in mid-January, bringing coaches, educators, administrators, referees and more to learn about, network within and celebrate the game of soccer. CISC President, Larry Burke, CISC Coaching Committee Chairperson, Matt Froehle, and CISC Youth Technical Director Johnny Turner attended this year’s convention. !

!

Billed as "Soccer's Biggest Party," more than 10,270 people experienced the Convention in some way during the five days and four nights in Philadelphia. Coaches from around the world descended upon the Pennsylvania Convention Center to take in the 230+ educational sessions from high-level clinicians at every level of the game. Larry and Johnny were able to earn NSCAA Special Topics Diplomas in Club Development. Matt Froehle was able to complete two diplomas and one certificate, NSCAA Special Topics Diploma in Soccer Management and Development, NSCAA Special Topics Diploma in Mental and Physical Player Development, and the NFHS/NSCAA Professional Development Certificate for High School Coaches.!

!

In addition to the educational sessions hosted by NSCAA, there were sessions hosted by US Youth Soccer, as well as those that attended Major League Soccer’s SuperDraft, the National Women’s Soccer League’s College Draft, the NSCAA Awards Banquet and the NSCAA All-America Luncheon.!

!

The information and training offered at the 2014 NSCAA Convention in Philadelphia should prove valuable for the Club and teams moving forward. The exposure and insight provided in the areas of proven standards and practices as well as newly developed and researched innovations will allow us to maintain motivation and direction as we move forward in providing the right training and support for our players.! ! In addition to the functional and conceptual knowledge that was gained, our team met with several vendors in an effort to improve service delivery and reduce costs. These include but are not limited to: product suppliers, evaluation software producers, fundraising facilitators/ suppliers, camp facilitators, and numerous other potential partners.! ! The team was also able to initiate relationships with several coaches and administrators from different regions of the country. These relationships will be explored in greater depth in order to evaluate the potential for strategic partnerships in the future.
