I.
CALL TO ORDER Mr. Robert Jenkins, President, called the meeting to order at 6:29 p.m. following the Pledge of Allegiance led by Mr. Harold Davis and Invocation by Mr. Clay Goff. Ms. Janet Hines recited the Beebe School District’s Mission Statement.
II.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA Dr. Shook presented the Agenda with the addition of Action Item G – Apptegy Mobile.

Mr. Harold Davis made a motion to approve the Agenda with the addition of Action Item G, seconded by Ms. Janet Hines. VOTE: For – 5 Against – 0
INFORMATIONAL REPORTS A. Ms. Casey Woods, Arkansas Biology Teacher of the Year – Ms. Casey Woods was recognized as the 2015 Arkansas Biology Teacher of the Year by the National Association of Biology Teachers. Ms. Woods will travel to Rhode Island in November to be recognized nationally.

Carrie Simpson, 3rd Grade Teacher, Beebe Elementary, 8 years’ experience; Amanda Busbea, Paraprofessional, Little Badger Pre-K, 0 years’ experience; Meagan Jones, Special Education Teacher, Jr. High School, 3 years’ experience; Amanda Cozad, 1st Grade Teacher, Early Childhood, 3 years’ experience.
Mr. Harold Davis made a motion to approve employment of new staff as presented, seconded by Ms. Brenda McKown. VOTE: For – 5 Against – 0
IV.
CONSENT AGENDA Dr. Shook presented the minutes from the June Regular and Special Meetings and summarized the June 2015 Financial Report. Ms. Janet Hines made a motion to approve the Consent Agenda as presented, seconded by Mr. Harold Davis.

ACTION ITEMS A.
Transfer Bond Refunding to Building Fund – Dr. Shook recommended the transfer of $80,541.26 from Operating to the Building Fund. The bond refunding is required to be spent on facility improvements. Ms. Brenda McKown made a motion to approve the transfer of funds as presented, seconded by Mr. Clay Goff. VOTE: For – 5 Against – 0
B.
Student Policy/Handbook Changes – Assistant Principals presented a summary of policy changes for the 2015-16 Handbooks. Ms. Brenda McKown made a motion to approve the policy changes as presented, seconded by Mr. Clay Goff. VOTE: For – 5 Against – 0
C.
Substitute Nurse’s Salary – Dr. Shook recommended that the salary for RN nurse substitutes be increased to $85.00 per day. Mr. Harold Davis made a motion to approve the recommendation as presented, seconded by Ms. Janet Hines. VOTE: For – 5 Against – 0
D.
Legal Transfers – Dr. Shook presented two legal transfers to Searcy and two legal transfers to Rose Bud School Districts. Ms. Janet Hines made a motion to approve the legal transfers as presented, seconded by Mr. Harold Davis. VOTE: For – 5 Against - 0
E.
School Board Election – The school board election is held in September. Ms. Janet Hines is the only candidate and will be elected for a five-year term. Since the millage will not be changed and there is only one candidate, early and absentee voting will be held at the White County Courthouse. This will save the district money on election costs. Early voting will begin September 8th. Mr. Clay Goff made a motion to approve the school board election as presented, seconded by Ms. Brenda McKown. VOTE: For – 4 Against – 0

Arkansas Automatic Sprinklers - $9,995.00; Heinemann – Literacy Materials - $11,562.72 Pearson – Science Textbooks - $69,480.85 Bright Light Sight & Sound – Sound System for Arena - $9,950.00; Medco Sports Medicine – Medical Professions Supplies - $1,261.83 and $9,946.62; Purchase of a stock trailer, a used 4WD truck and a new van, in place of a bus this year. Ms. Janet Hines made a motion to approve purchases over $10,000 as presented, seconded by Mr. Harold Davis. VOTE: For – 5 Against – 0
G.
Apptegy Mobile – Ms. Brook Singletary presented information on a new mobile app company to integrate the district social media. This would eliminate the need for School Messenger. The cost is $13,660.00. Mr. Clay Goff made a motion to approve the purchase of Apptegy Mobile as presented, seconded by Mr. Harold Davis. VOTE: For – 5 Against - 0
