Dear Pointers Basketball Fans,
Celebrating 24 years of great golf for a championship cause!
We hope you can join us for a wonderful afternoon of golf and celebrating Pointers Basketball. This year’s event will take place on Monday, August 1 at the beautiful and challenging Stevens Point Country Club (SPCC). Please review this brochure for more specific details and reserve your spot soon. For those of you, who have participated throughout the past twenty-four years, we are grateful for your faithful support. This is one of many key events which has strengthened our program and contributed to the ongoing, sustained success we’ve experienced. We also welcome any new participants who enjoy golf and have a passion for college basketball. Our annual Backcourt Club Golf Outing is a unique and special opportunity to become more closely connected to our championship program in Men’s Basketball. Last season we underachieved. We were unable to overcome a number of challenges and did not place either first or second in the WIAC for the first time since 2005-06. We also failed to earn our way into the NCAA Tournament for the first time after a record setting nine consecutive post season bids. One phrase we’ve been repeating with our players is to “Remember Who We Are”. We’ve been following that up by posing the question, “How quickly can we regain our regular place as a Top 10 program nationally in NCAA III”? We are greatly anticipating the upcoming season and look forward to sharing more about our returning roster and newcomers as well as our 2016-17 Schedule and the battle for the 2017 WIAC championship. We look forward to celebrating a wonderful day of golf and basketball with you on August 1. Warmest Regards,
