This week We have begun rehearsals for the Christmas production. We Would appreciate your help to help them to practice their lines at home, so they can say them independently and with confidence in school. We have been learning about the Nativity story, sequencing the key events and retelling it in our own words. We have been using our maths skills to count Christmas objects and decorate trees using small items to strengthen our fine motor skills.

The production rehearsals will dominate our week but we will continue to explore the Nativity story and other Christmas traditions from around the world. Ideas for supporting your child in preparation for next week.
Writing for a purpose. Write Christmas cards Write a Christmas present list Write a list of thing they will need for a Christmas Party or Christmas dinner.
Visit the library and look for different versions of the Christmas story. Number pairs. Using two sets of numbered playing cards from 1 to 9. Play number pairs. Place the cards face down and each player takes turns to turn over two cards. Count the symbols on the two cards. If they add up to 10 they can keep that pair.

The focus this week was ‘Making Friends’. The children have been talking about how they make friends. They considered how they could be kind to friends and what to do if they saw someone by themselves. They thought about things they could say to other which would make them a kind friend. Talk about their friends at outside of school. Who do they play with? Do they meet up with school friends?
