Installation Instructions Fabricated Lift Spindles Part # DK-922906 Page 2 of 4 Install must be done by a qualified mechanic Carefully read all directions before installation -

Tools Needed Eye Protection - Jack Hammer - Red loctite® Jack Stands - Wheel chocks Torque Wrench Standard Sockets: 13/16” & 7/8” Metric Sockets: 8mm, 18mm, 21mm, 22mm, 24mm, 36mm

Pre Installation Take your vehicle and park it on level ground applying your parking brake. Then chock the rear wheels. Jack up the front of the truck slightly to take some of the weight off the wheels. While the wheels are still touching the ground break loose the lug nuts. Now lift the front end until the tires are off the ground. Place jack stands securely under each side of the frame rails and set down. Slightly jack up the driver side suspension to release tension off the upper arm. Remove the wheel and leave the jack under the arm. Removal First remove the hub nut using a 36mm socket. Now unbolt the caliper using an 18mm socket. Once the caliper is off the hub and rotor can be removed. Then unbolt the ABS line from the spindle with an 8mm socket. Next with a 21mm wrench, loosen the ball joint nut until it’s towards the end of the threads. With a hammer hit the side of the spindle until the ball joint breaks free. Repeat this process to the lower arm and outer tie rod. After the ball joints are broke free from the spindle take off the nuts and remove the spindle.

The next step is to press out the snout from the spindle. Put the spindle in a hydraulic press to remove it. It will take a lot of pressure and will most likely need to be heated up by a torch.

Installation Start by pressing the snout into the Dirt King lift spindle. Placing a small amount of anti-seize inside the snout bore will make pressing it in much easier. Next bolt the spindle up to the upper and lower arms applying red loctite. Washers are provided that go between the upper arm nut and the spindle.

After a 50 mile break in period you must go through and re-torque all of the bolts. Over time you will also need to apply a Teflon based dry lubricant spray to the uniballs and heims. The bushings will need to be greased through the zerk fittings. This will increase the lifespan of the joints and help prevent them from making noise. Inspect these items periodically for unusual wear and replace if necessary. Replacement is necessary if any of the heims, uniballs, or bushings have slop.
