63nd Annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show - February 15-25, 2018
Photography Contest
Sponsored by the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona Amateur Committee
The Photo Contest is sponsored by the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona Amateur Committee. Judging occurs prior to displaying the photos. People’s Choice is determined by people viewing the photos during the show and casting a vote for their favorite. It is announced on the last Saturday, February 24, 2018. Categories: Photographs taken of the Arabian Horse, or Half-Arabian/Anglo-Arabian, that captures the moment in the following categories: “That’s My Baby”, “Clowning Around”, “Beautiful Arabian” and “Horse and Buddy”. Final Judging - Winners are determined by how well the entry illustrates the category, the quality and composition of the image, and presentation. Judging - Entries are reviewed before judging to make sure the photographs meet entry requirements (see below). Judging will take place prior to the start of the show, by a judge who works in the photography field and represents the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona. Winners will be notified via e-mail. People’s Choice - This award is determined after the photos are displayed. People attending the horse show vote for their favorite. The winner will be notified by e-mail on February 24th. The winner will receive a ribbon and recognition at the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show. Submission: Please submit photographs to the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona office by January 26, 2018 with a completed Official Entry Form attached. Amateur is defined as a person who has never sold their photographs for profit. • You may submit a photo in more than one category, but only one per category. • All submissions for final judging must of the size specified below, and matted, not framed, for display as described. • Use ONLY WHITE mat board. DO NOT use colored mat board, poster board, cardboard or mount with paper. • All photographs must be mounted to be eligible for judging. • There must not be any transparent coverings or lamination on front or back of entries. • Due to space restrictions, all artwork finished size including mat board MUST be NO LARGER than 16” x 20”, or smaller than 5” x 7”. • ALL Artwork is due at the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona by Friday, January 26, 2018. • No photographs will be returned. Medium Color or black and white photographs. Awards Winning photographs and their ribbons will be displayed in the North Hall at the Scottsdale Show in the AHAA Amateur Committee st th booth. 1 through 6 place ribbons will be awarded in each category. Champion and Reserve of all photos will be awarded. th Champion for Peoples’ Choice will be award on Saturday 24 , 2018. Prize Money: Overall Champion will win $200, overall reserve champion will win $100 and People’s choice champion will win $100 Additional Information The Arabian Horse Association of Arizona reserves the right to use the photography entries in future for advertising and promotion.
