Pieced Tuffet Saturdays October 17 12:30 – 3:30pm AND October 24 11:30am – 3:30pm OR November 7 12:30 – 3:30pm AND November 14 11:30am – 3:30pm Instructor: Terri Lore Supplies to bring to class: 2 sessions: 3 hours for 1st session and 4 hours for 2nd session 1 Session- Complete a section of your tuffet top, set up bottom fabric and discuss how to stitch together top to be ready for second session. 2nd Session- Build your Finishing kit, dress you Tuffet (my favorite part), complete your button, and bottom. Add your feet and you have made a Tuffet! During this class you will have use of upholstery equipment to complete one tuffet. The materials List for this class will make one 18” diameter Tuffet. A Finishing Kit of upholstery foam pre-formed, sanded and drilled plywood round, teenuts, 2 ½” button form, gathering cord, button securing cords, upholstery batting plus choice of four feet will be available for purchase in the first class for a $95.00 fee, plus tax. Please make check payable to Terri Lore Required Supplies: (1st class) 1. “Tuffet Fusible Pattern with Instructions & Interfacing” (available first day of class in shop) 2. 18” square of coordinating fabric for the bottom of the tuffet 3. (1) yard muslin, low thread count works best 4. Before the first class – cut sixty-four (64) 2” by 20” strips of fabric. If you want to coordinate your fabrics like the sample, you will need eight (8) - ¼ yard cuts of fabric cut at 3” x 21” to give you thirty-two (32) pieces. Or, you might want to use a Jelly Roll for your tuffet and the cutting will already be done. If you choose a Jelly Roll you need to purchase only ONE. Each strip is 42-44” long and will be cut to make two (2) strips 21-22” long. It is NOT necessary to trim these 2 ½” strips to 2”. 5. Sewing Machine in good working order. Don’t forget you pedal. Always bring your sewing machine manual to class. Your machine will need to have a zig zag stitch in order to complete the tuffet top. This will be completed at home. 6. Thread that coordinates with most of your fabric 7. Straight Pins 8. Rotary cutter with a sharp blade and mat 9. Add-A-Quarter Ruler – 12” works best st

Supplies: (2nd class) We will talk about these in the first class. 1. 6” square of coordinating fabric to cover the button; if in doubt bring multiples to audition. 2. Your completed tuffet top 3. A sense of adventure. Due to copyright laws, SHARING/COPYING OF PATTERNS IS PROHIBITED. A pattern must be purchased to attend classes at Cinnamon’s.
