TUFFET WORKSHOP SUPPLY LISTS: Bring Water and a Snack

 SESSION 1 – THE COVER PATTERN: There are two excellent patterns available for making your 18” tuffet.

The Tuffet: ($13) pattern by Myra Mitchell provides you with a paper pattern that is transferred to freezer paper and then onto muslin. It includes directions for a slipcover and math to make different size tuffets. Available from quilt shop or instructor.

We have created a template based on Myra’s pattern which can be used instead of freezer paper during class and is available for purchase ($10).

 Fusible Interfacing Pattern: ($28 with instructions) from Tuffet Source is a one-time use. You can purchase additional fusing panels for more tuffets ($18). Available from quilt shop or tuffetsource.com.

FABRIC REQUIREMENTS:  1 ¼ yards muslin for the foundation piecing  15-16” square or FQ for bottom of tuffet ___________________________ ____________________________  4 ½” circle of coordinating fabric for button  *Cover fabric recommendation: 8 FQ or 8 ¼ yd cuts.

__________________________________ * These tuffets are made in 8 panels. The patterns we use for the workshop are designed for 64 strips 2” x 20”-21”, BUT you can also make a tuffet using wider strips which is faster and easier and just as beautiful. If you choose to make a tuffet with wider strips cut 32 strips 3” x 20”-21”. TO SUM IT UP, THERE ARE 8 SECTIONS. YOU CAN EITHER USE: *Four -- 3" Strips in each section (our favorite!) OR *Eight --2" Strips in each section (or a 2 ½” jelly roll/strip roll ONLY for narrow 64 strip tuffet) You can use as many or few fabric choices as you would like.

PRE-WORKSHOP INSTRUCTIONS: _______________________
