• No. 8 and second-seeded Texas ends its season at 28-7 overall. No. 9 and thirdseeded UCLA improves to 27-7 and advances to the NCAA Regional Final. • The Longhorns played in their fourth consecutive NCAA Sweet 16 for the first time since progressing to eight consecutive NCAA Regional Semifinals from 1983-90. • Texas, which made its 31st all-time NCAA Tournament appearance, is 42-30 (.583) all-time in NCAA Tournament play, including a 10-5 mark under head coach Karen Aston. • UCLA now leads the all-time series with Texas 7-6. • The Longhorns won more than 20 games for the fifth consecutive year, including 24 or more games for the fourth year in a row. • Texas’ fourth-year seniors Ariel Atkins and Brooke McCarty conclude their careers with a 108-32 (.771) record, four NCAA Tournament appearances, four NCAA Sweet 16 appearances, one NCAA Elite Eight appearance and three Big 12 Conference second-place finishes. • The Longhorns played 35 games in 2017-18, making them just one of 14 teams in program history to play 35 or more games in a single season.

• Texas used the starting lineup of Ariel Atkins, Lashann Higgs, Joyner Holmes, Brooke McCarty and Jatarie White for the ninth time this season and was 6-3 with that starting five. • The Longhorns were out-rebounded for just the sixth time this season and just the 16th time in their last 105 games overall. UCLA won the battle of the boards 38-34. • Texas shot 50.8 percent (32-of-63) in the game and, over the course of its three NCAA Tournament games this season, shot a combined 57.9 percent.
• The Longhorns committed 21 turnovers against UCLA – Texas’ third-most turnovers of the season. • Texas placed four players in double figures on Friday night. It marked the 34th time in 35 games this season that the Longhorns placed three or more players in double-figure scoring. • Texas players made 192 three-pointers on the year, which ranks third all-time on UT’s single-season three-pointers made list. • The Longhorns recorded 1,493 rebounds on the year, which is the seventh-best single-season total in school history. • Texas season rebounding margin of +10.9 is the third-best in a single season in program history. • The Longhorns free-throw shooting percentage of 70.7 is the seventh-best single-season free-throw percentage in program history.
INDIVIDUAL GAME NOTES
• Senior guard Ariel Atkins scored a team-high 20 points and brought down seven rebounds with two assists and two steals in 31 minutes of play. o Atkins played in 121 career games at Texas with 100 career starts. o Atkins scored in double figures for the 81st time in her Texas career. o Atkins eclipsed the 20-point plateau for the eighth time this season. o Atkins finished her career with 1,497 career points, which ranks her 20th all-time in Texas history. o Atkins concluded her career with a free-throw percentage of 83.1, which ranks fourth all-time in Texas history. o Atkins finished with a career three-point percentage of 37.3, which ranks her sixth all-time in program history. • Senior guard Brooke McCarty totaled 12 points, dished out five assists and came up with two steals in 39 minutes of play. o McCarty played in 139 career games at Texas with 118 career starts. o McCarty finishes her career ranked fifth all-time in career games played and seventh all-time in career games started. o McCarty played 4,166 minutes in her Longhorn career – more total minutes than any other player in program history. o McCarty scored in double figures for the 84th time in her Texas career. o McCarty finished her career with 245 three-pointers, which ranks second all-time at Texas. o McCarty’s career three-point percentage of 39.8 percent ranks fourth alltime in UT history. o McCarty finished her UT career with 413 assists, which ranks 10th all-time in program annals.
o McCarty totaled 1,619 career points, which ranks 15th in Texas history. • Junior center Jatarie White scored 17 points and brought down a game-high eight rebounds in 31 minutes of play. White scored in double figures on 22 occasions this season. • Sophomore guard Sug Sutton charted 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting with three rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes of action. She reached double-figure scoring totals on nine occasions in 2017-18. • Sophomore guard/forward Joyner Holmes finished with eight points and seven rebounds to complement three steals, which tied her career high.
