Verizon Store Robbery Suspects Arrested

Manhattan Beach, CA

On January 16, 2016, at 9:22 a.m., an armed robbery occurred at the Verizon Store located in the 1700 block of Artesia Blvd., Manhattan Beach, CA. Two armed gunmen entered the store shortly after it opened and held a female clerk at gun point. The two suspects stole numerous iPhones and fled from the location. The female clerk was not injured during the robbery. After an extensive investigation, Manhattan Beach detectives identified one of the male suspects. Detectives additionally identified a female who was the driver of the suspect vehicle. On December 21, 2016, Manhattan Beach Police detectives located and arrested Fernando Andalon-Alvarez (22) from Torrance and Rebeca Garcia-Aquino (21) from Lawndale. They were both booked on armed robbery charges and bail was set at $50,000. Both suspects posted bond and are due to be arraigned at Los Angeles Superior Court Southwest District at a later date. The case is still being investigated to identify the third suspect. ###
