THE SERIES: Ramapo leads the all-time series, 33-26. LAST MEETING: NJCU drew within striking distrance of Ramapo in the middle of the second half before the Roadrunners pulled away for a 5542 win. In defeat, the Gothic Knights were led by Alnisa Hernaiz who finished with 12 points (6-11 FG) and 10 rebounds (eight defensive). Gabrielle Rivera had nine points and three assists while Delia Chernez supplied eight rebounds (seven defensive), five points and three assists. Ramapo was led by Alex Milne, who finished with a teamhigh 12 points and Faith Flannery compiled 11 points (5-10 FG), six rebounds and three steals in 26 reserve minutes. LAST TIME OUT: NJCU used first half runs of 16-0 and 22-2 to surge out to a huge first half lead, to beat Lesley, 67-29 in the consolation game of the Cheryl Warren-Powers ‘95 Memorial Tournament on Sunday. Alnisa Hernaiz led the Gothic Knights with 17 points, 13 rebounds, five steals and two blocks in 29 minutes of play and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Ashley Vazquez racked up 15 points (6-9 FG) with four assists while Maxine Kaminski chipped in nine points. Gabrielle Rivera provided seven points and four assists. KNIGHTS IN THE NJAC: Alnisa Hernaiz leads the conference in rebounding. The junior forward is averaging 13 rebounds per game. ABOUT THE OPPOSITION

LAST TIME OUT: On Saturday, the Roadrunners came from behind to defeat Suffolk, 60-58 in the championship game of the Roadrunner Tip-Off Tournament. Micaela Moore led Ramapo with 15 points, 10 rebounds and two assists while Alex Milne tallied 11 points. Kelly Haspel chipped in 12 points, two assists and two steals. SO FEW, SO SOON: Ramapo, thanks in part to a 58-15 win over Medgar Evers, leads the NJAC in scoring defense at 36.5 points per game and is second in the league in field goal percentage defense (.360). NJCU leads the conference by a substantial margin in FG defense, with opponents shooting .277. Ramapo also leads the NJAC in assists (17.0), turnover margin (+13.00), and assist/turnover ratio (1.5). PRESEASON POLL: Ramapo was picked seventh in the NJAC preseason poll; NJCU was ninth. She ranked 10th in the NJAC in offensive rebounds (2.9 pg) an 19th in rebounding. • Before NJCU: Played two seasons of basketball at Brookdale Community College in Monmouth County. She helped the Jersey Blues reach the national tournament and the District IX championship. • High School: Played four years of varsity basketball for Coach Michael Scarano at Keansburg. Earned Second-Team AllShore Conference honors in 2009, leading the Titans to the state tournament. She also played four years of softball (three varsity) for Coach George Hoff and was a First-Team All-Shore Conference pick in 2009.
