IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY, AUG 9, 2015 Dear residents and business owners, The Sun-Herald City2Surf presented by Westpac is returning to Sydney on August 9. Now in its 45th year it is the worlds largest run and Sydney’s favourite sporting event. Over 80,000 people will take on the spectacular 14km course from Hyde Park in Sydney CBD to the iconic Bondi Beach and help raise over $5 million for charity. This year leave your headphones at home as there will be live entertainment every step of the way. To safely accommodate the huge number of participants and spectators, road closures and special event clearways will be in place throughout the Sydney CBD and the Eastern Suburbs. Special event clearways are no parking zones and will be in place for most of the day, particularly around Bondi, Bondi Beach, Dover Heights and Vaucluse. Event staff will be on site Friday and Saturday to remind motorists parking vehicles of the upcoming special event clearways. Vehicles parked in marked special event clearways will be towed and owners will be issued with a towing fee. Vehicles with local parking and Mobility Parking Scheme permits are NOT exempt – you will still be towed. Make sure to check signs carefully before you park.
