Rouse High School Swim Booster Club Officer Board Meeting Minutes Nov 10, 2015 Call to Order Officer Board meeting called to order by Ken Demoski at 6:34pm on November 10, 2015 at the home of Ken Demoski.
Attendance Board members in attendance: Ken Demoski, Jayme Ingram, Dianne Szabo, Peter Grady and Lenna Crosby Sponsor: Coach Ramsey Other members in attendance:
Approval of minutes from last meeting October minutes were approved by the board on November 10, 2015.
New Business A) Treasurer’s Report a. Peter Grady reported the following: b. Total balance: $8,739.49 i. Checking: $8462.12 i. Snapraise & Bellini’s monies have been deposited. ii. $500 for Homecoming Concession night given to Peter for deposit. iii. $322.80 check for weight room equipment still outstanding. ii. Savings: $277.37 B) Budget/Expenditure Additions a. Board went over and updated the 2015-2016 budget. i. Revenue at this time: $8,773.00 raised thus far We have a spring fundraiser still in the works. b. Expenditures: i. Warmups for swimmers & regional/state towels still to be purchased. ii. $75 worth of canned goods that was purchased for the cancelled Round Rock meet will go to the Rouse Student Council for their food drive. iii. Boosters purchased the following equipment for the Rouse Weight Room: i. 4- 5 & 8 pound dumbbells, 2- 10, 15, 20 & 25 pound dumbbells, 110, 15 & 20 pound kettle bells, 2- 25 pound kettle bells, 1- curl bar and 1- foam roller. iv. Boosters need to reimburse Coach Ramsey for AISD meet parking ($20). Boosters approved to add parking expense for district and state meets ($150).
Old Business C) Spirit Committee a. Fall Fest: i. Since Trunk & Treat was cancelled, Rouse is hosting a Fall Fest on Nov. 14th. Boosters decided not to participate, due to busy schedule. All candy purchased for the Trunk & Treat will be donated to the Fall Fest. b. Special Olympics: i. Swimmers and parents will be asked to volunteer their time on Sat. April 30, 2016 for the annual Special Olympics held at Bible Stadium. ii. Lenna Crosby will sign the team up to volunteer once sign ups start. iii. More information will come closer to the event. c. Spring Day of Fun: i. Sam Stauber is planning a swim get together in the spring. Something like last year. ii. Event needs to be on a Saturday. Sam will work with Lenna to come up with a date and a bad weather date. D) Social Committee a. Thanksgiving: i. Monday, Nov. 16th at Nathan Diez’s home. ii. Boosters will purchase 3 turkeys & 2 hams ($150 budget). b. Christmas party: i. Jemma Prado (Maria Barrera) has offered to host the party at her Godmother’s home in Lakeway. ii. Coach Ramsey is going to check to make sure we can have the party outside of the district. iii. Boosters will purchase pizza and chips for the party ($150 budget). c. Banquet: i. The banquet needs to be 2 weeks after the State meet. ii. Preferred date will be Friday March 4th or Saturday March 5th. We need to see if a Sat. date will be approved by LISD. E) Meals for Meets Committee a. There will be no Subway served for the Nov. 14, 2015 meet. This is due to the fact that not all swimmers will be attending this meet. b. Subway will be served for the Dec. 4, 2015 meet instead. F) Fundraiser Committee a. Spring Fundraiser: i. We are looking at have the Silent Auction combined with a Spirit Night. Options are: Bellini’s (not a ticket sales event, just a 20% spirit night) or a Baskin Robbins Scoop Night. ii. Boosters are looking at the 1st or 2nd week of April 2016 for this event. G) Coach’s Report a. Boosters can no longer hold any events or gatherings on Sundays. The preferred days for athletic gatherings are Monday-Friday. b. Thank you to everyone who participated in our many fall fundraisers, pasta dinner and the Homecoming parade. H) Approved by Board a. Board approved the purchase of $150 worth of food for the Thanksgiving Dinner.
