The goal of the Jr Sharks House League (JSHL) is to not only develop a players’ hockey skills, but to create an environment where Bay Area youth can learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, good sportsmanship, positive mental attitude and having a good work ethic. For this 2015-16 winter season, the JSHL boasted 512 players from the ages of five to fourteen. The JSHL is a great place for a young player to become a hockey fan for life. In order to help the transition from the Little Sharks program into the league, we have created the JSHL Bridge Series. Although some players may be ready to join a league straight out of the learn to play classes, most kids need a little more time and practice before they are ready to join a team. This eight week-long series will help those participants “bridge” the gap from learn to play classes to the league practices. It will allow them to gain a little more confidence and work on their fundamental skills at the appropriate pace. At the completion of the eight sessions of the JSHL Bridge Series, most participants should be able to join the JSHL mid-season (space permitting.)
We are offering two time options for the JSHL Bridge Series. Please see the schedules below. Both time slots are open to ’07-’12 birth year players who have completed the Little Sharks Learn to Play program, have recently attended a Give Hockey-A-Try event or have completed group classes.
