This is about assembling various features into software packages which meet the needs and preferences of user groups. Scope This unit/task covers the following: User groups may be defined by: market segments geographical areas industries individual client organizations Appropriate people: line manager members of marketing team members of product development team subject matter experts Performance Criteria (PC) w.r.t. the Scope To be competent, you must be able to: PC1. carry out sufficient research to determine the needs and preferences of user groups PC2. identify the features of software products that meet the needs and preferences of user groups PC3. add or delete features in line with the needs and preferences of user groups PC4. finalize software packages ready for distribution to users PC5. obtain advice and guidance on packaging software products from appropriate people, where required PC6. comply with your organization’s policies, standards, procedures and guidelines when packaging software products Knowledge and Understanding (K) A.
