03 October 2014 Dear Parents Year 1/Reception Class - Think Tank Science Museum Visit We are planning a visit to the Think Tank Science Museum, Birmingham on Wednesday 05 November. The children will have the opportunity to take part in ‘hands on’ activities and workshops based on our science topic. The cost of the trip will be £14.00 which includes the coach, entrance fee, activities and workshops. The coach will return to school by 3.15 p.m. (Please send correct money and permission slip as soon as possible and no later than Friday 10 October, in an envelope marked with your child’s name and class). The children should wear school uniform. A packed lunch which consists of a choice of Sandwich, Crudites, a Chocolate Melted Moment and a carton of apple juice, will be provided for those who request it, as part of the universal free meal scheme. You may, of course, opt to send a packed lunch if you wish. Please ensure that you complete the section of the reply slip which allows you to select the type of sandwich your child would like. Thank you. The Education Act of 1988 makes it clear that parental contribution to the expenses of such visits may be genuinely voluntary and that no child can be treated differently whether or not the parents have made a contribution. If sufficient contributions are not received, however, we shall have to abandon our plans and any monies paid will be refunded. I hope that, as in the past, we can rely on parents’ support for this visit. If this presents any difficulty for anyone, please let me know.
