1 STATEMENT BY THE PROGRESSIVE PEOPLE’S PARTY (PPP) Delivered by Ms. Eva Lokko, PPP Vice Presidential Candidate Date: 12th October, 2015 Venue: Tyco City Hotel, Sunyani -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Mr. Chairman, Nananom, All protocols observed; My name is Eva Lokko and I am here with William Dowokpor. We are from the Progressive People’s Party – PPP, Pre papa preko, party papa paaa. We are very happy to be here today because NDPC has finally won the war, not the battle, but the war to help us to develop a long-term plan for our country. We are looking forward to a plan that is dynamic, and has short-term goals as well as medium-term goals as well as the 40-year, long-term goals. We are looking for a plan that will ensure incorruptible leadership that will ensure preventive health care for every single Ghanaian. A plan that will ensure free, compulsory, standardised, quality education for every single Ghanaian. And we are looking forward to a plan that will ensure that our young people coming out from school have jobs that they can go into as well as opportunities to start their own businesses. We are therefore 100 percent behind the 40-year development plan. We know that as Ghanaians we have only one country so we are also looking forward to a long-term plan that will help us think together as Ghanaians, plan together as Ghanaians, work together as Ghanaians and put Ghana first. To do that, we are happy that NDPC is ensuring that we are all part of the process, that they are not going to sit in their offices, develop a plan and ask us to implement, but that we are all contributing to developing this plan. I am therefore appealing to everybody here and everybody who is listening or watching us to please participate. Make your ideas heard, make sure it is included in the long-term plan so that we all own it as Ghanaians. I am looking forward to a Ghana where we are all empowered, even us political parties, to think outside the box, put partisanship aside. As you can see, there are at least six REGIONAL CONSULTATION ON THE LONG-TERM NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN Statement by the PPP ©NDPC, 12th October 2015

2 parties here, with 12 representatives that are behind this plan process. And we all have to work together so that in developing our political manifestos, we can only tell the people how we are going to implement the ideas that they have put into the plan, and not impose on them our own ideas of what the country needs. So I am imploring everybody to be part of this plan. We are happy to be here, we hope that everybody will work hard so we leave here feeling that we actually own the plan that is going to be developed by NDPC. I thank you all for being here today.
