“CELEBRATE THE HEART OF QUILTING” February 1st - 28th South Central Wisconsin’s 17th Annual Road Trip This year’s Road Trip has moved from July to February and will be a month of red and white quilting and sewing projects, heart healthy recipes and silent auctions. Each shop has designed a pattern for a quilt journal and you will receive each of those patterns free at each shop. We will have kits available for our journal cover. Heart healthy recipes will be available at each shop along with a drawing for a basket of goodies with a value of $75.00. A silent auction will be held at each shop with the proceeds being donated to the American Heart Association.
MODA PIECE & COMFORT CHALLENGE This challenge is to recognize and honor the sacrifices that are made by our country’s military families. Challenge begins January 1, 2015 through March 31, 2015. Stop in to pick up an entry form and purchase fabric that must be used in your quilt. Proceeds from this challenge will benefit USACares.org whose mission is to assist military families in time of need.

JANUARY - FEBRUARY, 2015 BUILDING IN COLOR: BLOCK OF THE MONTH PART II Terry’s Building In Color Part II is a continuation of knitting with more than one color...one panel at a time. Each of the ten panels will focus on new skills and ways of using multiple colors. At the end of Part II, you will have enough panels to complete your own colorful blanket. THE HANDMAIDENS (formerly Folk Art) with Judy Hasheider This group will focus on handwork and will meet six times throughout the year. The project for the new year will highlight crazy quilt embroidery. The background of our embroidery will be pieced Grandmothers Fans or crazy quilt patchwork done in cotton or wool. The first meeting will give instruction on creating the basis for our embroidery. Each consecutive class will feature different embroidery stitches. In an effort to have more interaction within the group, participants will also be assigned two stitches to learn and then demonstrate these to the class (optional if you are not comfortable doing this). The first two classes will be held at Stitchers Crossing...remaining meetings to be determined. Cost will be $20.00 for the first two meetings.
The fee for the three sessions is $45.00. The book Building In Color is required.

JUDY’S TALL GRASS QUILTERS Quilt Sitters Circle was initially based on the techniques and patterns of Mary Ellen Hopkins. Over the years it has evolved and is now based on the designs of Judy Hasheider. Judy’s Tall Grass Quilters will no longer have any requirements for membership. Each meeting will feature a pattern created by Judy, a showing of new products in the shop and lots of inspiration from a show and tell of members. January’s pattern is I Think I Can, I Think I Can. We meet the second Tuesday of the odd months (Jan, Mar, May) at 1:30PM or 7:00PM at Stitchers Crossing. The fee is $30.00. Tuesday, January 13th 1:30PM or 7:00PM Guest fee is $12.00.
