TEXAS STATE POSTGAME NOTES Getting Started  Weather: Cloudy, temperature 72 degrees, wind SE 10 mph  Today’s game was televised by CW 35 and ESPN3  Today’s game was the fifth meeting between Texas State and Georgia State.  Texas State wore maroon helmets, maroon jerseys and gold pants.  Georgia State won the coin toss and chose to defer to the second half. Noting The Bobcats Texas State celebrated Senior Day with a pregame presentation for 10 players that included graduate transfer Damian Williams, Jordan Versey, Jeff Banks, Louis Rubin, Chris French, Stephan Johnson, Eric Luna, Elijah King, team captain Elijah King, two-year team captain Gabe Loyd and two-year team captain Gabe Schrade. Team Notes Texas State opens the game touchdown drive for the third consecutive with a 75-yard touchdown drive in nine plays when Damian Williams threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Anthony D. Taylor and Foster Hilborn added the extra point to give the Bobcats a 7-0 lead. Chris French celebrated Senior Day the same way he began his Bobcat career when he caught a nineyard touchdown pass from Damian Williams. French had his first touchdown reception of his career in his Bobcat debut at Florida State on Sept. 5, 2015. Tyler Watts caught a career-high nine passes for 60 yards after recording eight receptions against both Coastal Carolina and New Mexico State. Elijah King had seven catches for 103 yards and a touchdown against Georgia State. It was his fifth touchdown catch of his career and third this season after catching two TD passes in 2016. Texas State gave up a 71-yard touchdown pass from Conner Manning to Devin Gentry, which is the longest pass the Bobcats have surrendered this season.

Anthony Taylor led the Bobcats with 51 yards rushing on seven carries. Taylor leads Texas State with 405 yards rushing on 94 carries this season. Damian Williams threw a career-best three touchdown passes against the Panthers. Williams finished the game with 315 yards passing as he also had career-highs of 35 completions and 55 passes. This marks the second straight game that Williams has passed for over 300 yards. He threw for a careerhigh 321 yards and two touchdowns against New Mexico State. The Bobcats had three players log double digit tackles on defense. Bryan London II led Texas State with 12 total tackles, while Jashon Waddy finished with 11 and Gabe Loyd finished with 10 stops. Loyd also nearly recorded Texas State’s first interception this season, but it was overturned on a replay. Waddy had his first forced fumble of his career, and Hal Vinson recorded his first fumble recovery of his career. Easy Anyama led the Bobcats with three tackles for loss with one sack while playing defensive end for the first time this season. Frankie Griffin also had two tackles for loss with one sack while recording six tackles.
