You are my sunshine, My only sunshine. You make me happy When skies are grey. You'll never know, dear How much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away. The other night, dear, As I lay sleeping, I dreamed I held you in my arms. When I awoke, dear, I was mistaken; And I hung my head and cried. You are my sunshine. My only sunshine. You make me happy When skies are grey. You'll never know, dear, How much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away.
The Clinton Family Acknowledgment We wish to warmly thank you for your comforting words, prayers, support and genuine acts of kindness in our time of sadness. It has meant so much to our family.

Reflections of Her Life
Order of Service Reverend Allen Ancurum, Presiding Prelude
Merlene Craig Clinton was born May 22, 1957 in Florence, Arizona. She was the daughter of the late John Craig, Princelyn (Jasper) Livingston. She departed this life to be with the Lord on July 6, 2016.
Merlene, affectionately known as “Merl”, graduated from Florence High School in 1977. She furthered her education, earning the Nursing Assistant Certification from Central Arizona College. She married Malverce Clinton, Sr. in March 2003. She was employed as a Home Health Nurse for over twenty years.
Merl was admired by all who knew her for her loving spirt and kind heart. Her compassion for others was on full display during her career, as she dedicated her life to helping children and the elderly. Her infectious smile comforted those around her; and her strong faith and love for Christ was apparent in how she lived her life.
She was full of determination and drive and was proud of the fact that she was able to return to and graduate from high school after having had two children.
She leaves to cherish precious memories: her husband, Malverce Clinton, Sr.; her children: Julie Craig of Columbia, South Carolina, Jotina (Brian) Roorda of Arizona, Jacqueline Johnson of Charleston, South Carolina, Shenieka Clinton of Savannah, Georgia, Malverce Clinton, Jr. and Malcolm Clinton, both of Columbia, South Carolina; her grandchildren: Devin Knight, Michael Roorda, Brittany Jones and John Roorda of all of Arizona, Mikayla Maul of Columbia, South Carolina, Jay’Lynn Payne of Charleston, South Carolina, Alyssa Maul, also of Columbia, and Jade Payne and Willie Payne, both of Charleston; her great grandchildren: Jasmine Brown-Knight, Sophia Knight and Macie Roorda, all of Arizona; and her sisters: Jeanette Craig, Caroline Taylor, Sharon Craig, all of Arizona.
Her sweet physical presence is no longer with us, yet her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
