Day One

Friday, February 17

7:00 AM Depart school on a deluxe, climate-controlled and restroom-equipped BLOOM

motorcoach. Please plan to arrive at school to load your bags on the bus at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time, to ensure an on-time departure and an ontime arrival. 3:15 PM Arrive in Québec City, THE CRADLE OF FRENCH CIVILIZATION IN NORTH AMERICA

and meet your FRENCH ON LOCATION guide at the HOTEL DELTA QUEBEC. You will have about an hour (depending on your exact arrival time) to check in and freshen up, then reassemble in the lobby and depart on a WALKING ORIENTATION TOUR. The tour will end with DINNER at a fine French-Canadian restaurant on the GRANDE ALLÉE, the CHAMPS ÉLYSÉES OF QUEBEC. 6:00 PM Arrive at CAFÉ DE PARIS, where you'll be served dinner amidst centuries-old stone

walls, while being serenaded by an accordionist and chanteur ... you're going to wonder if you're in Quebec City or Paris!

7:00 PM After dinner, walk via the Quarter Latin, then out la Porte St-Jean to picturesque

Place d’Youville. 7:30 PM There, you can spend the evening ice-skating (in the shadow of the St-Jean Gate)

at Patinoire de la place D'Youville, a few steps from your hotel. Ice skate rentals have been included in the cost of your trip, if you haven't brought your own. 9:00 PM After returning your skates, walk with your guide back to your hotel. 10:00 PM Overnight security services begin at 10:00pm. Day Two

Saturday, February 18

8:45 AM Meet your guide in the lobby and transfer to a FRENCH BREAKFAST in the lower

city. 9:00 AM Arrive at the charming RESTAURANT LE COCHON DINGUE (in the Quartier Petit

Champlain) where you’ll begin your day with a BREAKFAST of large fresh croissants and a bowl of chocolat chaud. 10:00 AM Board the bus and depart on a brief city sightseeing tour ending in the Village of

Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier for a tour of Québec’s famous ICE HOTEL. 11:00 AM Upon arrival at the incomparable L'HÔTEL DE GLACE, you will be led on a guided

tour of the unusual structure, built with 11,000 tons of snow and 350 tons of ice (the only one of its kind in North America). With 18-foot ceilings, a working fireplace and an internal/external skating rink, the Ice Hotel Canada is a remarkable attraction, which will have melted completely in just a few short months! 12:00 PM Meet the bus, then transfer to les Galeries de la Capitale. 12:30 PM Arrive at LES GALERIES DE LA CAPITALE where, after lunch on your own in the

international food court, you can take a ride on the indoor roller coaster, or PRACTICE YOUR FRENCH in a few of les Galeries' 250 boutiques and retail stores. 1:30 PM Meet the bus and depart for VILLAGE VACANCES in the village of Valcartier. 2:00 PM Upon entering the LARGEST WINTER SPORTS FACILITY IN NORTH AMERICA, you

can try any of its 42 exciting inner-tube and crazy carpet slides, or go ice skating on the 2.5 kilometer skating rink. Don’t miss the TORNADO, a giant inner-tube which holds up to eight people at once and brings you twirling down the slopes, of EVEREST, the highest accelerating slide in the North America upon which you can reach the speed of 80 kilometers per hour! 4:45 PM Depart for a ride through the Québec countryside to an all-you-can eat dinner at

an authentic French-Canadian CABANE À SUCRE. 6:00 PM Arrive at LA CABANE A PIERRE where, after a tour of the sugar shacks and a

hearty dinner of typical Québécois fare (including Mountaineer's Pea Soup, Homebaked Country-style Bread, Sausages, Traditional Tourtiere, Maple-glazed Ham, Pancakes with Maple Syrup, Maple Taffy on Real Snow, Coffee Tea, Soft Drinks and Fresh Spring Water), you'll spend the evening learning traditional dances and folk songs. 9:00 PM Board your bus at about 9:00pm and return to the hotel.

10:00 PM Overnight security services begin at 10:00pm. Text27

Day Three

Sunday, February 19

7:00 AM Meet your guide in the lobby, board the bus, then transfer to breakfast at the edge

of Québec’s Latin Quarter. 7:15 AM Arrive at CAFÉ BUADE and begin your day with either scrambled eggs, bacon,

potatoes and toast, or French toast with maple syrup, bacon and baked potatoes or Cereal with milk and baguette and jam. Both choices include a fruit salad, orange juice. 8:00 AM After breakfast, BOARD THE BUS and transfer to the PLAINS OF ABRAHAM for a

visit to a unique, stone fortification that was erected in the mid-nineteenth century to protect Québec City from an invasion from, of all places, America. 8:30 AM Arrive at MARTELLO TOWER (One or Two) for an interesting, interactive lesson

about military strategy of the era, and about the singularly harsh lives led by the soldiers stationed in the Martello Towers. 10:00 AM After your lesson, transfer to nearby PARC MONTMORENCY. 10:15 AM Upon arrival at Parc Montmorency, meet your photographer at the statue of

George-Etienne Cartier, the father of Canadian Confederation, and pause on the ramparts for a GROUP PHOTOGRAPH. 10:30 AM Walk with your guide to the QUARTIER PETIT CHAMPLAIN, the oldest part of the

city, where you’ll pause for lunch on your own (LE PETIT COCHON DINGUE would be a good choice for an inexpensive sandwich; CAFÉ LA MAISON SMITH, overlooking Place Royale and the bust of Louis XIV, would be another). After lunch you’ll be free to browse amidst the ancient greystone buildings and narrow, cobblestoned streets that date back to the early 1600s. 1:00 PM Meet the bus and depart on a short ride along the north shore of the Saint

Lawrence River (the CÔTE-DE-BEAUPRÉ) to the village of Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré. 1:45 PM There, upon arrival at Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré, your guide will lead you on a tour of

its magnificent basilica. This world-famous, gothic cathedral is renowned for its enormous proportions and superb stained glass windows. More than a million visitors tour the basilique every year. 2:15 PM Meet the bus and depart for Montmorency Falls. 3:00 PM Arrive at PARC DE LA CHUTES MONTMORENCY, where the first battle between

Generals Wolfe and Montcalm took place during the epochal summer of 1759. There, you will walk across a footbridge that crosses directly over the top of the 280-foot high waterfalls, then down a 250-foot staircase that's so close to the face of the falls that you'll feel the mist. 5:30 PM Meet the bus and transfer to DINNER at a popular Parisian style restaurant across

the street from City Hall, at the edge of the Quartier Latin.

6:00 PM Arrive at the RESTAURANT D'ORSAY.

Your dinner will begin with the soup of the day followed by your choice of chicken breast stuffed with pesto and parmesan, or penne pasta with black forest ham, and chocolate cake for dessert. 7:15 PM After dinner, your group can walk to led Glissades de la Terrasse, Quebecs fmaous

toboggan slide that's contruscted on the boardwalk outside the Chateau Frotenac every winter. 7:30 PM Arrive at LES GLISSADES DE LA TERRASSE, Québec’s famous toboggan slide that’s

constructed on the boardwalk outside the Château Frontenac every winter. There you'll spend the evening taking exhilarating, 300-metre rides on "LA LUGE" high above the frozen St. Lawrence River. (Warm up with cup or two of a CHOCOLAT CHAUD in the heated gazebo at the bottom of the toboggan slide.) 9:00 PM You’ll return to the hotel at about 9:00pm. 10:00 PM Overnight security services begin at 10:00pm. Day Four

Monday, February 20

7:15 AM Pack your bags and bring them to the bus between 7:15 and 7:45am. 7:45 AM Walk with your guide to breakfast in an old house on the Grande Allée. 8:00 AM Arrive at LA VIEILLE MAISON (at 625, Grande-Allée est) for a buffet breakfast of

scrambled eggs, pancakes, french toast, bacon, fried potatoes, toast and jam, cereals and fresh fruit, and orange juice. 9:00 AM After breakfast, return to the hotel at about 9:00 or 9:15am, board the bus and

depart (not later than 9:30am) for the south shore community of St-Nicolas for a DOGSLEDDING EXCURSION in the Québec countryside. 10:00 AM Upon arrival at Chenil la Poursuite, you and your sled-mate will learn how to steer

and stop a dog sled, then every student will depart (on a two-person sled) on a 20KILOMETER DOGSLED RIDE. And don’t forget, as you navigate the trail that winds through the woods and fields of Québec, that the dogs speak FRENCH, not English! 12:00 PM After your dogsledding excursion, you will board the us and depart on the first let

of your trip back home. Your first stop en route, will be for lunch on your own in Drummondville, at about 1:30pm. 9:00 PM Arrive at school at about 9:00pm (your actual arrival time may vary).
