There’s No Place Like Home!!! Last Saturday the Cross Country teams hosted over 1500 runners in the Harvey Braus Classic at East Campus. The boys varsity team took advantage of the home course and home crowd as they raced to 1st place! This time around they ran in pairs to get the job done. Jeremy Lozano and Eric Dade led the way for the Lancers. Backing them up were Lucas Bracher and Andy Tomaka followed by Zach Schwarz and Matt Miarka who made his season debut. The team also showed solid depth by capturing 2nd place in the Open race. Leading the way for the team was Ryan Mack. He was followed closely by frosh phenom Robert Kincanon, Justin Fowich, David Fitzgerald and Will Troyke. The frosh/soph team continued to improve as they were led by Will Dover, Jason Joda, Alex Caines, and Jacob Pacione. Next up for the Varsity team is the Peoria Invite on Saturday. It

will be a tremendous test for the team as they look to battle among others #2 O’Fallon and #3 York in a field that includes 13 of the top 25 teams in the state. As for the ladies, Senior Nicole Alfano led the way once again. She raced to a 14th place finish which is no small accomplishment as the girls field was loaded with 8 of the top 25 teams in the state. The rest of the team continues to improve as evidenced by the fact that all of the girls ran seasonal bests.
