Dear Region 60 Families: As your Regional Commissioner, and together with Regional Commissioner the regional board, I am here to serve you and to Rolando Morales ensure you have a safe and fun experience. Unlike other sport organizations, AYSO is run almost completely on volunteer power. All members contribute their time without monetary compensation, so please join me in thanking our volunteers for their time and commitment to our youth in our region. We have entrusted our coaches, referees, and team managers with our children, and so we are grateful to them for stepping up and becoming a volunteer for AYSO Region 60. Our children’s safety is the number one concern. Let’s all remain vigilant on the sidelines (practice and game) for appropriate spectator behavior and for outside influences that could impede our children’s safety. Parents and spectators are asked to set a proper example of sportsmanship. Kids are No. 1. Fun, not winning, is everything. Fans only cheer, and only coaches coach. Respect the volunteer referees. No yelling in anger. No swearing or abusive behavior. No alcohol, tobacco or drugs. No weapons. Leave no trash behind.

(Today is Silent Saturday) Let’s give our kids a chance to play soccer the way it’s meant to be played: without the stress and pressure of parents yelling at them. Let them have FUN! Spectators, including parents, must remain quiet for the duration of the game. Absolutely no horns, whistles or other noise-makers allowed. Instead, parents and spectators are encouraged to display positive and encouraging signs and banners. Uncooperative individuals will be asked to leave the area of the field. Referees and players on the field may talk during the game. The coaches may talk to their players only during substitution breaks (quarters), at halftime, and before their game. In U05 and U06, head coaches only may give minimal instructions to players if needed to keep the game moving along.
Coaches, Assistant Coaches & Team Parents
Team and player photos will be taken tomorrow, Sunday, September 25, on the U10 fields (near the tennis courts). Please arrive 30 minutes before your team’s scheduled photo time, so that you can complete the following stations: Station 1 (Volunteer Status/check-in) Each volunteer must check in at the CVPA Station to verify his/her volunteer status. New 2016 volunteers must bring valid/current photo ID. A shirt ticket will be given to coach/ asst.coach/team parent when cleared by CVPA. Station 2 (Volunteer Shirts) Present your shirt ticket at this station to receive the appropriate volunteer shirt (coach/ asst. coach/team parent). You must take the shirt size you ordered. We will not be able to make any exchange on picture day. Station 3 (Sponsorships) Turn in sponsor money and completed sponsor form. Our goal is for each team to raise $250. You will have one month to turn in the required funds. Station 4 (Pictures) Team parents (or designees) are the only ones who can sign in your team. Please note: Team pictures will not be taken until the first three items are completed.
