In this week’s share
Well it is certainly winter outside now! We’ve been slowly putting the farm to bed and frantically washing vegetables to get into your final share of the season and boy is it a good one! We’ve loaded you up with lots of great roots, some greens and lots of storage veg to get you through the winter! Just a few quick notes; we left the brussels sprouts a bit ‘dirty’. That is to say you’ll have to pull off the outer few leaves of each sprout before you cook ‘em up! Also in the share is a bag of mixed beets, which includes white ones that are insanely sweet and delicious—we’ve had a few folks at market ask if the white ones are in fact beets so we thought we would be super clear! The bag of onions also has shallots mixed in, you can tell a shallot from an onion by feeling for the cleave between the two sides. And finally make sure you pick up the contents of 1 yellow and 1 blue bin from your pick up site!
